Only if the stuff's any good. I've heard reports on these that range from fine to horrible. The one's that Pred set up at one of the Pred/CSI events were an absolute joke. Those clowns were using carpenter levels to set them up. Total clusterf&*k. They had to get E. Dominguez to come in and level them. Getting these steel-frame tables plumb/square can be a nightmare. That's why a lot of tech's would never work on K-steels. Setting up a Diamond is child's-play compared to these things.Good. More competition is good.
He had to do more than level them. Had to fix and rework the framesOnly if the stuff's any good. I've heard reports on these that range from fine to horrible. All those fasteners are a fkng nightmare to get correctly snugged. He had to do more than level them. Had to fix and rework the frames
They had to drill holes in the slate on probably close to 75% of the tables used during that tournament. Some needed multiple holes drilled in them.He had to do more than level them. Had to fix and rework the frames
The slates have holes in them to attach to frame. I seriously doubt they were drilling fresh holes in the slate. Good way to crack it.They had to drill holes in the slate on probably close to 75% of the tables used during that tournament. Some needed multiple holes drilled in them.
Tables play fine IF set up right. A friend played the Arizona event and said they rolled/played/banked just fine. Problem is they are a colossal PIA to set-up correctly. The SAM's have always been that way. RKC wouldn't touch one for a bunch of reasons.if it aint broke
lets fix it

i meant about switching from diamond to pred mostlyTables play fine IF set up right. A friend played the Arizona event and said they rolled/played/banked just fine. They 100% drilled holes in the slate. I watched them do it.The slates have holes in them to attach to frame. I seriously doubt they were drilling fresh holes in the slate. Good way to crack it.
k-steel's really are crap UNLESS set up perfectly. they are not mechanic friendly AT ALL. have you ever seen one?i meant about switching from diamond to pred mostly
RKC doesnt want to touch anything, its all shit if you ask him
WOW. That's unreal. That's beyond bad. They 100% drilled holes in the slate. I watched them do it.
He drilled a hole approximately where the spot would be on the head and sometimes the foot of the table. Ran bolts through these holes and into the frame to try and alleviate some of the warpage issues the slate was having. Then filled those holes in with car bondo and sanded it flush.
I know it's going to be hard as hell for me to adjust to a 7" table. The Open at Griffs is not run in a large venue where CSI has league tournaments running next to pro events. Those league tables are 7". Just changing pro side to match.
I wonder how the league players will adjust.
Pred's own people were using carpenter's levels. clueless.I heard all the installation issues also on the 9' tables. These being 7' may be much simpler. Less likely to twist, etc.
I think the mistake made by SAM/Predator was not having their factory staff come to set up the early batches, and learn first hand of any issues that came up.
Still, I'll take a table that's hard to set up, over a pinball machine, any dayNow we have "player" alternatives in Brunswick and Predator/SAM.
Griff's won't be using 7fts. Why would you have to adjust?? All league pool is on bar-boxes. All the events at Griff's are on 9fts.I know it's going to be hard as hell for me to adjust to a 7" table.
With 4.5 inch pockets its like child's play to pocket balls.I know it's going to be hard as hell for me to adjust to a 7" table.
and still pros dont break and run every single rack on valleys , much less league playersWith 4.5 inch pockets its like child's play to pocket balls.
never been under the hood of one, again i was mostly pointing out, them going from diamond to pred,k-steel's really are crap UNLESS set up perfectly. they are not mechanic friendly AT ALL. have you ever seen one?
