We are all spoiled these days with all the pool live streams and online content that is free. I do sadly think it has watered down the market in some ways for content that is for sale but if the game is growing from it and getting interest from new players that is what really matters.

I agree about the over saturation of the market. Its hard to sell something when people can see all they want for free. Only way to get people to pay at all now is to generate new interesting and innovative content then protect it as best you can. The instructional is a great way as I know you have figured out. If people want to watch tournament matches there is enough free on YouTube to watch for years.

The flip side to that is someone is watching all these YouTube videos. That equals value for sponsors hopefully. Its crazy how much has changed in last seven or eight years.

I'm one of the ppl who like the live events and pay for the ones that interest me. I also usually am wagering on them.

In contrast, I almost never watch the YouTube matches.

Maybe it's the gambling aspect? Maybe it's the rail chit chat aspect of watching a live match with buddies. Idk what it is. But live to me is 10 times better than prerecorded. Even considering one is usually ppv and the other is usually free.

I dont' mind watching recorded matches if it's good, but there's one reason (for me) that live is sooooooooo much better, and that's not knowing the outcome.

Now I don't mean watching a match where you already know the final score. I'm talking about a race to 11, for example. Player A is up 10 to 6, and there's only 2 minutes left in the video. At that point, you already know that Player B isn't going to come back and win.

In a live situation, you have no idea if the next rack is going to be the last.

Dude, I wanted to let you know I LOVE these matches. I think is an amazing format to watch!

I wish someone would create a tournament based on this type of a format. Something like this…

You play the 10 Ball Ghost, count how many games you get before you have 5 misses.

If you miss once you re-rack and start over… kind of like the home run derby. Everyone could put up money, winner take all.

Thats a damn good idea. Be pretty slick to have a cheap netbook/tablet behind the bar or mounted somewhere that a guy could pull up matches. Naturally it would be destroyed/stolen or used to stream midget amputee porn but such is life. Still a cool idea despite the fact that people find a way to ruin most things.

The google Chromecast is the dead nuts. Anyone with a smartphone can call up the video they want and show it on the TV the dongle is connected to.

I might put one in my case just to show it to room owners.
