Concurrent Tournament Scheduling
The 9' table events will be on their own schedule.
The 7' amateur events will be on their own schedule.
There is no reasonable way to coordinate them. So they are going to conflict if a person goes deep in the 9' events.
Especially with the Derby style format.

Mark,
This is true that the Southern Classic and Amateur tournament schedules will be generated independently. However, as you know the Derby format was changed from unpredictable round and match scheduling to scheduled matches in 2011. The Round 1 Bank Pool matches will be posted at 1:00 PM Friday. Round 1 matches will scheduled at 2:00PM, 3:30PM, 5:00PM, 6:30PM, 8:00PM and 9:30PM and all will be posted at 1:00PM. Round 2 will be drawn and posted at 11:00PM Friday night, and one flight in Round 2 will be played at 11:00PM. The remaining Round 2 matches will start at 10:00 AM Saturday and continue at 1.5 hour intervals throughout Saturday.
I am assuming the CSI amateur events will use the same double elimination and scheduling format used at the BCA national event which gives very early visibility into a player's complete match schedule. The Southern Classic Tournament Desk can reschedule matches and has been very good in the past when they are notified of potential conflicts, which happens at Derby when One Pocket overlaps Bank Pool and Nine Ball, or when players in scheduled matches are attending the HOF dinner, or when other rescheduling needs arise. I think the Southern Classic will be able to manage these overlapping events pretty well if the players keep both tournament desks informed of potential conflicts.
If the CSI amateur events are not pre-scheduled then that's okay too because the CSI tournament desk would then have some rescheduling flexibility as the double elimination bracket progresses.
I'm excited about the new events and plan to play in both venues. I'll assume you are providing free mobile carts to us senior players. See you there!
