CTE Experts in New Jersey?

Hi all. I've come to be known by some in this forum as either naive or underhanded. I don't know, can I be both? :eek:

Anyway, the fact is that I'm really looking for the truth. I don't need CTE to help me aim shots, but if it really works for odd banks and three railers and other specialty shots, then count me in.

With that in mind, it is clear to me that the only way I have a chance of learning the system is to be at a table with someone who feels they have the method down pat, and doesn't mind sharing that knowledge with me. So I'm asking if there is anybody out there in northern NJ who is willing to meet me at a pool hall in the evening or on a Sunday and show me how it really works?

In return for the effort, I will gladly purchase a DVD from Stan (maybe I'll have to use an alias for the privilege) whether I learn anything from the experience or not. Of course I'll also pay for table time/drinks/whatever.

Here's the secular version for comparison:

1. Start on the fractional alignment closest to the needed cut angle.
2. Pivot thicker or thinner as needed to make the shot.
3. Repeat until you get good at it.

Just buy dvd 2. If more is needed, I would say forget about it. (dvd should cover it shouldnt it?:rolleyes:)
 
Well about every argument comes down to, "You have to be at the table with Stan and then you will understand it." Sorry, I'm not going to Kentucky. If I can't find one guy in the state of NJ who can actually use and describe the system so I can "get it" then I give up.

It is really going to get sad sad sad for you as CTE continues to grow in popularity over the next many many many years..........you have no chance for any dances of joy....All of the dancing is and will take place because of the success of CTE......

Enjoy your last stand Johnson as there will no dance to it.....

You've always misunderstood my intent, Stan. I'm happy that you're doing well with CTE, and I'm sure its success won't be diminished by some frank discussion about how it works (you know, here in this discussion forum).

Wow, talk about disingenuousness! Can you explain what the last two decades have been about with you demeaning and belittling Hal, Stan, users of CTE, and the system itself on a DAILY BASIS? (except when you had a nice long vacation from a ban)

There's no other single individual who has been as vocally destructive toward CTE and it's promoters as you've been. Even Lou take breaks but you can always be counted on to throw some kind of jab to degrade it as long as you're on a pool forum.

Johnson's last stand is coming to an end soon. You lost...and you were WRONG which is the one word you never want to hear or admit since your mega ego won't allow it.

As I explain whenever asked (and apparently no CTE user is capable of understanding), I only object to the fanciful, non-factual and illogical way CTE users claim it works - primarily the claim that it's "feel free". Houle claimed the same thing for his "3 Angles" nonsense (despite your laughable claims that he was just "pranking" everybody - where have I heard that lie before?), and now Stan and his merry band of clueless acolytes are carrying the torch.

Despite that, I'm happy if players use it and benefit from it and if Stan does well with it. I'll just keep pointing out the factual inaccuracies in its marketing claims when I notice them being pushed.

Since when did you ever have to be ASKED? 100% BS!!

Now you're flat out lying about the 3 angles being a prank for three reasons. He never referred to them as ANGLES, YOU DID!!

He referred to it as a 3 LINE aiming system which had nothing to do with angles but only REFERENCE POINTS.

And I NEVER said what he wrote was a PRANK. What I said is he kept you in the dark about the PIVOT after aiming at one of the reference lines and allowed you to run your big mouth that it was impossible to make all shots by CONTACTING only those three ANGLES. He thought you were an idiot and laughed his butt off every time you went into one of your clueless rants. Hal got more laughs in his lifetime than anyone I know and he really DID laugh.

As far as what the users do, you've done as much as possible to use illogical and INACCURATE statements to discredit it. What makes you think you're the supreme last word on logic and what you say is factual?? It's NOT! If you're such an expert on LOGIC, go teach a course at Northwestern University instead of aiming lasers at a contact point to beginners who never held a cue.

You say you want to see him succeed and then post this: "Stan and his merry band of clueless acolytes are carrying the torch." As well as ("and apparently no CTE user is capable of understanding"), There's the MEGA EGO demeaning anyone and everyone who is involved in CTE with you being the ONLY ONE who knows what it's about, yet incapable of giving actual instructions as Stan does because you know so little.

Talking out of both sides of your mouth again I see. Yep, it sure sounds like you want to see him and others succeed.

I don't want to see anybody succeed at misrepresenting any system's capabilities - that's counter-instructional.

I'm happy for everybody who gets something from any system, but I think they might get even more from it (and I think more would like and trust it) if they understood it realistically.

I don't think you (or anybody) do it intentionally, Stan. It's not meant as an insult to you, or even as a criticism of CTE - only the way it's explained.

You can not present CTE as I know it or as I teach it, therefore how in the heck can you say I am misrepresenting......when you are obviously clueless about CTE PRO ONE.

I view your continued accusations toward my work as harmful to my business as well as my reputation. I am not the kind that will allow YOU to just keep on keeping on.......

I don't attack CTE or you, Stan. I've always said CTE works for its users and you're obviously sincere in your descriptions of it. In fact, since you don't get into specifics much here, it's mostly the descriptions of CTE by others that I've disagreed with.

Anyway, the same old back and forth gets old for me too...
