CTE: trusting the mechanics

It has been stated that everyone needs a proper PSR, whatever that maybe.

PSR- pre shot routine.

Well, it one point, I was a Avionics In-flight technician aircrew on a P3. A flight consisted of three parts, the pre-flight, the in flight and the post flight. Each part had a different function.

What was needed to be pre-flighted depended on the mission of the flight. A maintenance hop was just radios and navigation. A tactical mission required a whole lot more, up to 35 systems to be operational before take off.

In-flight was making sure the needed systems worked.

Post flight was to make sure any gripes, issue with any of the systems was reported.

Hows this relate to pool.

Well a pre shot routine is the procedure gone through to determine how to do the shot.

In shot routine is the execution of the shot.

Post shot routine is watching the outcome to see if it was what you wanted.

Everyone, regardless of system used, goes through this same three step process.

It is the last step, post shot routine, that makes any system works.

Interesting analogy!

If you're using manual pivots only, then adjustments for combinations or cheating the pocket would need to be made after the pivot, whether it be standing back up or adjsting at shot position. Using visual sweeps allow you to make those adjustments before getting down on the shot.

Didnt realize you can use the system in combination's. Figured Stan couldn't hit a fake pocket with the system, combinations are out of the picture.
