Ive been playing pool for a little over 20 years. I have only used the ghost-ball or point of contact method to aim..Ive really just aimed off of feel for as long as I care to remember rather than keying in on a exact point all the time. If this makes any sense to anyone but me.....

I started using CTE (Stan Shuffet) about 6 months ago or so.....At first it just was hard to get a feel for it as it goes against what I trained myself to do for many years. Dropping in on the line of the shot, approaching the shot on a direct line of cueball address. With CTE you want to come in from the side NOT on that direct line. If you do approach on that line its easy to miss once you pivot the cue.. I found that I prefer the CTE method over the Pro One method, I actually enjoy the pivot as it locks me in on the shot.

Once I really got the system, my jaw literally hit the floor. I just cant believe the accuracy as well as the shot making that's easy to accomplish with it. I found that for me before CTE I was playing on the extreme outside edges of the balls on all shots (cue ball and object ball)...I was blown away when I realized how thick you can hit shots and they go into the center of the pockets.....It has opened up a lot for me and my game.

Ive seen all the threads and pretty much steered clear of all of it BUT I will say this CTE and Pro One are the real deal. No matter what I think it would be so much extra work to play without a aiming system. If I would have known this 20 years ago....WOW

Just out of curiousity, what took you so long to sing the praises.

The reason I ask is that I got interested & then intrigued with it about 3 months ago, but have not gone on with it due to the perception of 'gaps' that I attributed to my lack of full understanding.

Thanks in advance,

Thanks for sharing. It took me along time to get the hang of it. Now that I get it, it is so simple that I wonder why it took me so long to understand.

Gaps between the secondary aiming fractions on the OB A, B, C and 1/8?

There are no gaps as you suggest.

You must be thinking of a fractional system.

This is not fractional system. I have not shot a fraction system shot in years.

There will be members from AZ verifying this in the very near future.

They will say, No gaps!!!

Perhaps English can drive to my facility for observation and report back to AZ as to whether he can determine if there are gaps or not in what I do with CTE PRO ONE.

I found no gaps whatever in the system. It is explained in great detail on the DVD. The information is explained perfectly, BUT it does take some time to understand and apply it to your game. For me I decided and dedicated to using it on every single shot no matter what it was or how easy. I know by doing this it sped up my learning curve, and has become automatic for me at this point. I no longer need to look at a shot and tell myself ok aim point a pivot right...its become second nature, I don't think about it I just do it.

What a class act on Stans part to offer to show how the system works in person. Since Stan is reading this thread, I'd like to say thanks for bringing this info out in a excellent understandable way.

That would be beneficial for he might break through the gap or no gap paradigm.

: a philosophical and theoretical framework of a scientific school or discipline within which theories, laws, and generalizations and the experiments performed in support of them are formulated; broadly: a philosophical or theoretical framework of any kind.

You are entirely welcome!

If you liked DVD1 you will love DVD2. DVD2 will be my FINAL CHAPTER on the subject unless I do a CTE PRO ONE BANK DVD to include many other types of shots as well. As far teaching CTE though, this will do it for me and I think for everyone else as well.

I hope to do a lot of this type of sharing. Seeing is believing.

I am intrigued with this system to say the least.
I am also dumber and more stubborn than a box of rocks.
I'm afraid I just won't get it?:embarrassed2:
I also hate to waste money! I do a lot of that. (see above):grin-square:

A few thoughts.

I adopted an attitude a few years ago that there was nothing that I could not understand concerning CTE aiming. It has been a long, hard road to arrive at where I am now. Your advantage is that I am putting 15000 hours of work into one presentation. Yes, there will be a learning curve of days, weeks or a few months but what you will get is quite special and will be worth you effort.

If you are close to KY, then I am to happy to show you what CTE is all about and then you could be more informed.

I also offer phone support and hope to do so for a few more years. I am hoping that DVD2 will allow for many, many, many students to engage in an independent self-study and move to proficiency in that manner. But, everyone of us are smart in different ways. Pool is mostly about visual/motor skills. So, it does help to be skilled in those areas. The beauty of CTE PRO ONE is in its objectivity. The system is all about what to see objectively at ball address and how to move to CCB.

One of the things that I am most proud of now is that I can instruct about what to see and how to move to CCB, the target.
Last week, I had a student and I asked him to shoot a pass over bank cross side. The shot was an inside A. He made the shot. Then I asked him to adjust his visuals to B and use the same inside visual sweep for a 2 rail cross side bank. The ball went. I told that student objectively what to see and how to arrive at CCB. ( The student used CCB and correct speeds in pocketing the 2 banks.)

This is an example of how instruction is going to change on a large scale in the future.

Well, the DVD is $40. That's about what you would spend on a good night out playing pool.

If you buy and don't get anything out of it then you can sell it here for $20 easily, probably more. So you have spent $20 and a little time trying out something that could possibly change your whole outlook on pool forever for the better.

As I have stated several times, I have very, very limited information & therefore limited knowledge of CTE. I also have only spent a very, very, small amount of time with CTE.

To use my lack of knowledge, inexperience, time & a probable false perception based on incomplete information to criticize CTE is a foolish endeavor that yields no valid conclusions what so ever.

I regret that some have chosen to take one phrase of mine out of context, with no background information as to why I may have had that perception, which, even I, immediately attributed to my lack of information & understanding & subsequent faulty execution.

I'm sorry to say that doing that only suggests to me an insincere, & perhaps biased motivation. When I first used the method that my Dad taught me, I missed shots. I had gaps, not the system. After a bit of time & realizing collison throw, those gaps when away. They disappeared.

My very, very limited 'experiment' with CTE has me extremely intrigued by it's capabilities & I attribute any 'gaps' to my lacking & not the system as I have oten stated but failed to mention in the statement now being quoted by some out of context of the larger 'picture'.

It is this type of activity that infuences people to back off from posting on AZB in MHO.

Mr. Shuffett, I am sincerely sorry a phrase of mine has been taken out of context with regards to my very limited 'experiment' with CTE & used in an attempt to disparage CTE.

Please accept my sincere appology.

With Best Regards, Respect, & Wishes to both YOU & CTE,

English,

I did not see this coming at all!

I have had no thoughts of negativity in any way concerning any of your CTE comments.

In fact, I appreciate your sincerity and I know your comments were on the square. Consequently, that is exactly why I suggested that you might be a good candidate to view my work and report back to AZ. I meant my invitation for you to visit as something to be very positive.
You seemto have no bias. That's perfect for viewing my work and looking at the gap, no gap controversy.

No problems on my part. Please, I am sorry if I stated something in an inappropriate way.

Anyway, thank you for your thoughtful post.

Mr. Stan,

I take no exception with anything you stated in reference to me. I'm sorry if I gave any hint of such.

My disappontment lay elsewhere.

I doubt if I could arrange a trip to your facility unless I fly (bad back, not driving) to see my brother & his family in Memphis first. But... they are coming to N.O. for Mardi Gras so I do not know when a trip that way might happen.

Therefore I probably will not be able to be the AZB test project unless it is on my table, but I hope your invitation will remain open for a time when I am in your area.

Best of All to You &

Sure, your invite will remain intact.

And, I do have a good friend in your area, JOEYA, so when I am in your vicinity, hopefully a visit can happen.

Mr. Stan,

That would be great. Naturally we'll meet up at the 'World Famous Buffalo's Billiard Parlor'.

Maybe we can play some doubles. You & Joey vs Me & Mr. Lock.

When will you be in the area? I can't wait.

Have a Great Day,
Rick
