I'm a C/B player. Been playing for years. Lately I have been having trouble when the cue ball is on the rail, especially on straight in shots. I don't miscue but I seem to be pushing the cue and the object ball misses the pocket to either side. Also I am having trouble with my long draw shots. I used to be able to hit a long shot and draw the ball back the length of the table. Now the cue doesn't draw at all or it rolls back about 3 or 4 inches.
On the rail shots I tend to shorten up on the cue and press down on the cue so when I hit the cue ball my tip doesn't slide over the top of the ball. Now on the draw shots I think I am holding the cue with a light grip but I'm probably gripping tightly when I'm striking the cue ball.
Any suggestions that could ring a bell in this old frustrated head?
