Cue ball scratches

I watched, months ago, a youtube video about how to determine whether a shot was a scratch or not... lately, especially in my apa region (these guys are just bar players that don't care as much as I do), I've seen a ton of scratches.. that I can't prove since even my team doesn't know what a double hit is lol.. or at least they don't care enough to notice. I'm young, a new player, and really love the sport.. and I hate it when a retard does an obvious scratch (follow through the cueball and other balls real fast... as if he's fast enough to move out of the way -.-) and no foul is able to be called.

I can't seem to find the video.. I don't suppose anyone knows what I'm talking about or has that link handy to prove stuff in a friendly match? OR maybe a tip on what to do during my matches...

find a player that has been around a while, ask him to watch your match and have hum explain to them what a foul is, sometimes people will listen to someone that is not involved, and someone they know, knows what they are talking about.

Scratching

Play backwards pool. Break like regular 8ball,but shoot object balls into cue to purposely scratch. Called a carom. If you learn to scratch on purpose, you learn what a scratch is. Also great for cheesing the nine in 9ball. Spot cue if scratching the cue, lose turn.

Check the rules for your league as well... there's a rule in my local in-house league that says if the CB and OB are within a chalk's width - no double-hit foul can be called. People take serious advantage of that rule too. *sigh*

Really?

That's exactly when the double hit is most likely to occur!
