Cue butt deflection...

Despite all the various hypes that are out there, the butt of the cue has virtually no affect on cue ball squirt.

There are video's out there that may make you think otherwise, but when you get down to the meat and potatoes of it the effective tip end mass is all that really counts.

This all really goes back to what cuemakers were saying years ago...that a cue is the sum of the total components..which is why each cuemaker's cue plays differently with minor variables in woods used, ferrules used, joint materials used, screw used, etc. Every cuemaker has a favorite combination. Tapers make a big difference.
