Cue Cmments

Well it looks good enough, I guess you'll know what you have when you get it. The only people I know to have bought Phillipino cues were satisfied with what they got for their money.

Any way to prevent this fom happening? Now I'm concerned.... :(

Hello, I am uncertain if the cue can be prevented from warping. The problem occurs from a difference in moisture content from there to here.

In this country I do not think that there is anywhere with such a high humidity as the Philippines.

So the reason that the cue will warp is because of a difference in moisture content, so keeping the cue protected most likely will not help with this problem.

I own a cue by this cuemaker. I have had it for about a year and have not had any problem with warpage. It's a beautiful cue, I think the workmanship is top notch, and it hits great. It is one of my favorite cues. This seller has excellent feedback on ebay and as you can see, his customers are impressed with his work. And for the price, it's a great deal!

I think

it is a 'cheap' gamble for a cue that would sell for 4-8 times that if a USA cuemaker made it. If it hits good (I would immediately get rid of the Le Pro tip), then you got yourself a real bargain.

Filapino cuemakers are aware of their humidity problems. I am sure a lot of them use dehumidifiers when aging wood.

nice cue

That is a nice looking cue and warping dangers can be minimized. Check your private messages for a little more info.

Cue Comments

Post a photo showing the joint pin / joint showing inside of butt joint.

I saw a cue from a different seller from the same country at a local cue maker's shop. This cue:

1) Had painted on black around inlays - which one would have expected would have been ebony inlays.

2) Had a very thin ferrule that could be seen through. This showed a hollow ferrule with no wood or ferrule material under the tip.

3) Had a warped shaft - which was in the shop for replacement with new.

4) Looked good, but had a terrible hit.

Point is the new shaft would cost more than the entire cue and shipping combined.

Your cue does not appear to have any of the painted items described above. You paided twice as much as the cue I describe above, but your cue appears to be superior and has a second shaft.

I would be curious to know what your thoughts are of your cue:

- Hit
- Warping problems
- Quality of shafts

I'll be honest...... I only been a pool player for almost six months. :o This wil be my third cue. I got the first Wally World's cue for free from a friend and about a month later I bough a cocobolo cue from Mark Smith. So I'm not sure if I can tell the difference in the hit. I will try to give my best opinion upon receipt of the shaft.

Oh, I bought another cue aside from this within a day. Who knows, maybe the table is next.
