I was reading the disaster thread of Joe (BamaCues) where the USPS destroyed a beautiful Barnhart cue.

The pin that is bent 90 degrees between the handle and forearm. please excuse my ignorance but is that the way most unspliced pieces are mated?

I have really learned a lot seeing the sleeves, handles and forearms in pieces and unfinished states here on AZ. I just never gave much thought on how everything was assembled.

That looks like a spliced cue to me with a brass radial stud.
Some use aluminum, ss, G-10, fiberglass and few like threaded wood tenons.
A very few use one-piece core top to bottom.

Omg!!!
