Cue design suggestions

Well, really wood combinations and what would look well together. I'm going to order two new cues from SW (just got the call from Laurie) and I'm not sure what combination(s) would go well.

I was thinking a pink ivory nose with ebony points for the first cue. Not sure what vaneers would look best. I'm going with 3 veneers. Any suggestions?

The second cue was going to be a purple heart nose with ebony points with white/black/white points but now I'm not sure. I like both of those woods but since I chose that combination (10 years ago) I've become more of a fan of really rich colors and figuring in wood. Again, any suggestions?

Thanks. Oh and pictures would be great.

Woods with a great look and nice contrast for SW cues that I've seen are.

purple heart into ebony with complimentary veneers( I think the veneers were silver and blue) Looked great in the cue especially in the ringwork

maple burl or amboyna burl into a darker piece of cocobolo with complimentary veneers( I think the veneers were lt maple or holly and black)

Ebony is a great wood, but IMO, can be too plain for point wood on a SW style cue. Maybe Amboyna Burl, Snakewood or similar would be a better look for you. Also, I like veneers which really make the points pop like purple, yellow, green, orange, etc.

have a great time choosing- look at Haley, and Searing JW combo's too.

ask Laurie she likes tulip wood very well- and she had a nice chunk of pink ivory- Ebony SW's play great but I would use African black wood. Gon Cales Alves was one of the original woods- ask for curly Gon Cales Alves. my 02 cents. mark

ebony into deep rich cocobolo..........no veneers.....or rosewood into deep gabon ebony with 1 green veneer.....both my favorites
