Cue Giveaway Contest

Hello everyone.

I have been trying for months to sell my Panther cue to anyone interested, on eBay, AZBilliards, Craigslist, my local pool halls, nothin'. It's a 19 oz with new shaft and new Triangle tip. Nothing fancy, but a good cue, at an intermediate level. Since I haven't been able to sell, I have decided to GIVE IT AWAY!

I am considering hosting a free cue giveaway contest. The premise for the contest is what I want some feedback on. I want to do a "Sexy Photo Contest", where real users submit sexy but tasteful photos, or a series of photos, of them playing pool, holding a cue, or on a pool table, etc.

The rules will be explicit in no nudity, and no overly suggestive themes or vulgarity. Those who submit them will be disqualified. The level of "sexiness" should be similar to like a Sports Illustrated or Maxim Magazine photo shoot.

Other rules would be:
1. Votes to be submitted by AZBilliards users.
2. Only users who have established accounts prior to TODAY will be allowed to vote, eliminating the possibility of multiple accounts created to submit votes.
3. Each user may vote only once per photo, using a scale of 1-5, 5 being the highest score.
4. Users may vote on as many photos as they'd like.
5. Vulgar comments, remarks, or insults will lead to disqualification, as well as the vote.
6. Contestants may submit as many photos or entries as they'd like. Professional shoots are also permitted.

This contest is mainly for fun, to get some cool photos and some interesting buzz around the pool community. Before I start the contest, I would like feedback from everyone. What do you think? I am open to all opinions, suggestions, etc. As soon as I have enough feedback, I will begin the contest. Please feel free to respond! Thanks everyone.

Edit: Okay now that I have that out of the way, I can address the thread.

I know this is a goodhearted idea, and intended to be fun in nature, but the majority of the population here at AZB is male. Furthermore, I don't know how many of the ladies here will be willing to submit "sexy" photos of themselves for a $120 cue. You have to remember, even though you need to be a member to post here, you need not be a member to view. Thus, these pictures would be visible to anyone on the internet.

Like I said, I know it's all in fun, and I hope you get a favorable response. Personally, I don't think you will, though.

Agree.

I'd say that if you want to give away a cue, find a way to give it to someone who might not otherwise be able to own one. I see no correlation between (a) needing or wanting a cue but not being able to buy one and (b) producing a sexy picture of oneself.

Hey, he didn't say the pictures had to be only of women. Don't talk him out of it - I was just looking for that Speedo I bought in 1961. :eek:
 
And my grandfather is a member here....my grandmother can take sexy pictures of him for a chance at that cue

Haha you guys are hilarious! But yeah, I see your point Marksman. I will give it more thought. But imagine the kind of huge buzz this would create, and all the awesome photos you would see! But I did not know non members could view the threads. Interesting thing to consider. However, you WOULD get new members on AZBilliards. Keep the opinions coming!

Seriously, if you want to sell it and nobody will buy it outright, why dont you raffle it off...I can almost bet people will cough up a few bucks for a chance to win a cue......id get in on it if u did....although, I need another cue like I need a 3rd tit.....but what the heck.....cant every have 2 many tiddys

Yeah, I would think he/she, or I will try and be politically correct,,,,,"It" definitely paid the price to win that cue.
