Cue Gone / How About a Dominiak??

I don't know if this is even the proper forum to "vent" my frustrations. Every post / querie I have had tells me that the people that I'm communicating with are gentlemen. And I thank all of you for carefully and respectively answering any questions.

Late last night (actually around 2:40 a.m.) I came out of a restaraunt only to find my "mystery" McDermott and Giuseppi case gone. My son forgot to lock the doors to his car.

If anyone recalls, I was excited about this old McDermett cue I found because for about $200 I had a great "everyday" player that I wouldn't have to worry about.....yeah, sure.
That cue's "street" value was practically nothing, yet it was taken....geeez, what's it coming to anymore??

I gave my son hell for not locking the doors, but I must say that I'm surprised anyone would have the cajones to open a car in a lighted parking lot to take a cue stick. They were obviously looking for anything that they could find as the glove box was still open...but nothing worth taking was in the car....except a nice playing cue. Now the only cue that's in my depleted arsonal is a Samsara that I will not use everyday...in fact, I feel like putting a chain on it!
Don't get me wrong, I've been around the block a few times, but in 62 yrs. I've never had to worry about things like leaving a cue in a restaraunt lot a few miles from my house in a rather nice section of our city. This sort of proved to me a couple of things....never play the Samsara unless another person is with me (john breaks, etc.,) and having a good everyday player that doesn't break the bank if it gets stolen. To top it off, I just sold my 4K3 and STL9 this past week. So, here we go again. I need a everyday player that I won't want to "throw away" after my Josey comes......which is months.
I went to Danny Vegh's which is the only store that "passes" for a billiard supply house and saw just a few overpriced cues I'd even consider playing, much less purchasing.
A guy at the hall suggested that I get a Dominiak Sweet 16. He doesn't have one but swears they play very well. His take was "They look like a plank of wood, but play really nicely"...good hit, etc.. I looked them up on the web and checked w/ BW and some other places. BW is the only place I saw them discounted, but would like some feedback from anyone with opinions of a Dominiak Sweet 16 and the Dominator 2 shaft. It looks like I can pick one up wrapless for about $250.00.
Can anybody give me any input about them? Playability being the key here.

So fellas, thanks for letting me vent, guard your favorite stick and pocket a few for me tonite.

I have been playing with one for about a year or so now, its not the 16 but I have shot with a few and they all play pretty much the same. They play good not great. I'm not a big fan of the d2 shaft it deflects a bit. If you are near me maybe we could meet up and I can let you take a few wacks with it see how you like them. PM me with your location if you like.

I have one of the cheaper single piece curly maple models with a normal (not dominator) shaft. Solid cue, radial pin and great shaftwood. You can specify a taper when ordering.

My experience is they play very good (especially for the price) but the original ferrule / tip combination has a pingy plasticky sound that might be a little annoying. Very solid with little deflection nevertheless.

I have a Lucasi i paid $225 for and it is a good solid hitting cue. You can get them for as low as $150 and if it gets stolen it is not a big loss.
