I agree with Steve on one exception b/c its not hand size that makes a difference IMOP its the length of the fingers......
people with shorter fingers tend to prefer a thinner handled cue.....if a butt was oversized then the shooter might have trouble keeping his/her grip hand fingers from coming into play during the stroke.
thats how I am....i have big palms but my fingers are not very long....i can deliver a cleaner stroke with a thinner handled cue.......BUT AT THE SAME TIME i've tried some cues out that were super skinny and felt like the closing my hand that much more in to hold it made it feel awkward.
but as Steve said GENERALLY cues don't vary that much in size to be all that noticeable especially in the production market.........even most customs are close to each other, just as many of us make a joint at . 840 - .860 thousandths
If your thinking that the thin handled cue is the cue to what ails you tho that would be a definate FALSE.......
I always played with varying sized handles but noticed the ones that were a bit undersized were much more comfortable in my grip..........I already had good cueing, but i knew my bodys taste was looking for something specific so as a cuemaker i did what a good tailor can do for a fine suit, I took the cue in till my hand said YEP thats it....thats perfect.
just as fodder for the example of contrast to show it really doesn't matter I used a very much oversized and LONG cue to win 500 smackers......i wasn't the most perfectly comfortable egg in the basket but i played just fine with the thing.
So if you want to change b/c you know it is better suited for ya then by all means.....but not b/c your fishing in the water for the moon trying to fix a busted stroke by a new and different cue. That don't jive my friends.
