Cue ID Needed!!!

Hey All!
I pulled this one out of storage to see if anyone can help me ID it. I inherited it from my Grandfather when he passed back in 1982. Not sure how old is, or the maker.

Since I see there are quite a few cue connoisseurs here I thought I'd ask for help. Anyone know?

That Joint???

Made in Asia?..Those Asian cues all got that kinda Exotic Joints...Just made this set of Joint Protectors for as similar cue here in Hawaii for a customer..It was a 5/16" x 18 Thread though, not Metric.

These were always sold during expo's and shows in the early 1970's, appx price - $29.00.
Nothing special and your Grandfather knew that, He most likely got to looking at some dealers booth, passing time, talking about
pool and allowed himself to be swindled out of $29 bucks!

Your Grandfather probably kicked himself everytime he looked at that cue for being so foolish with $29.00 dollars.

What it really is Brian, a memorable tribute by your grandfather for the game.
Chinese import, replica mcdermott bumper, replica palmer butt sleeve, I'd like to know if its still straight!
 
Remarkably enough I rolled the cue and it's still straight.

As far as my Grandfathers pool playing history goes, I did not know he possessed this cue till after he died and never got to play with him, either. But it would have been nice no doubt.

Thanks for your info. I knew its market value wasn't much but now I feel a little more familiar with it's history.

Japan not Taiwan...?

"I'm no expert" but I think that cue was made in the same factory in Japan that the early 70's Brunswicks were made. Your cue is probably late 70's- done in the Bruns/RichQ style..
Yes, it is a "cheap" import...but it was still a decent playing cue in it's day. I love my 1974 Brunswick. It was the first cue I ever bought new (K-Mart $14.95).. and I still have it.

Lol, Ray, I didn't notice your Cog till after I hit enter.

I'm not yet IN NC a all! I am in Florida now, Our rental house sold unexpectedly. Have two weeks to get out and we have no job OR definate town that we are headed to. The sale of the Cog will give us a cushion to find our new home. :)

For industrial, mechanical... more towards Charlotte...

For flipping burgers and leading a rudimentary existence... move to my neighborhood...LOL!!!

Thank Ray, I am or soon to be was a service advisor for a buick dealer, I sure hope they sell and service cars up there! LOL

But seriously, love the mountains and foliage that we saw up there last summer when scoping the state. So... Buy my cue so we cant meet and play...
