Looking for some info on this one. Looks like a tad but this has no logo and no serial number. Thanks guys.

I have not seen a high end custom cue look like this one does under the rubber bumper - doesn't mean anything except that I never saw one look like this - the small wood thread into a large wood end into the buttcap.

Thanks for the help guys. I spoke with Fred a bit ago and emailed pics. The pic above is the same ringwork for sure but different joint, that's not surprising given how many they used.
The butt end is the same as one I had last year with the simple screw but that one had a serial number.
I'll update either way on authenticity. I also saw similar Ginacue and tascarella online so it will get solved I believe.

Received this from Fred, his words were "this looks like it could be a Tad". I'll take that as a yes based on the 2 I had and the 1970's example above and puts this at that era.
Waiting on his reply about a refinish to decide if I will go that route.

I need to go pull out some other cues from the collection. I have 3 super old Tads. I’ll look and report back here. Need a couple days. The length of the butt cap isn’t the reason I’m a bit suspicious. There are some normal length ones. Fred is the answer, but I’ll still look and see what I can figure out with mine-if anything 😀

Thanks, I'd be interested to see some other examples of the bumper section on non serials. The example above really matches well in the details of construction.

I’m on it. I have 3 super old tads, I’ll send you pics. I have to get some other pics to a friend, so this week I’m going open the vault and get some pics. Oddly I never take pics of my stuff.

Update from Fred on refinish time.
He says the cost is approx 350 for refinish and rewrap plus shipping with a turnaround of 2-3 months currently.

I hope you’ll post the pics here, Eric... I had an early Tad and a Gina. They were similar from a distance. Looking forward to the pics. Please show the forearm also

I’ll send them to someone. I’m in Denver, I did get the cues out, funding the right case was a job itself. I’m back Monday or Tuesday & will shoot them then. I’ve never removed the bumpers on them-shouldn’t be a issue, they aren’t rotted or dried out. So I’ll try and remove them. Also for comparison I’ll get a 80’s Tad and remove a bumper. Hopefully I can get them off.

I’m pretty interested myself,

best
Fatboy
