Curious, and I don’t know who made the cue, but at what point does a cue become a frankencue? Does any cue with a replaced buttcap become a frankencue cue, or does it become a frankencue when the buttcap, the weight bolt and the rubber bumper get replaced?

Yes, it is a Mizerak Pro SM-7

This is an earlier one with sharp points. Later ones had rounded CNC points.

The pin and pilot are likely nothing like yours. I was merely showing an example of the ring material. I have a variety of others, different brands, import and US, but I don't know if I have pictures showing the grain in the rings so clearly.

I know that I have production cues with a tapered compression fir like you cue, but I haven't found pictures yet. I don't always have detailed pics. I am still in the midst of cataloging what I have.

I couldn't find clear pictures of pin and pilot of that exact cue, this is another one I own, an SM-3

I have two of these cues, but these are not my pictures. Penn Ray is the brand. Import from the 80's. I see similarities.

I see similarities too, but I also see differences. The shaft is 13.5mm with an ivory ferrule and different railroad tracks.

Yes, I wouldn't say your cue is one of these. The one you have does look like it was made from some production cue...or the result of repairs.

I can’t imagine why anyone would use a construction bolt that doesn’t have a way to tighten it. Even the K-Mart specials Ive come across over the years have a way to remove them.

Well, tightening would not be a problem. It's threaded for a bumper bolt. You can use that to tighten it. This is important with a Delrin butt cap because adhesives don't work. I think a lot of makers will say threading the cap on is best practice. Yours is just sleeved on a short tenon, right?

Loosening or removing would be a problem. Reminds me of makers that glued the bolt in, like Huebler.
