i suggest you try a shorter length cue. i'm 5' 9" and have been playing with a 55", 18 oz. cue for years.
the old masters played with 56" & 57" cues against heavier balls and longer tables.
if you watch other players, even pros, you will see that they usually have about 5" of length behind their grip hand. this is normal on 80% of their shots.
if you take this unused length, which is the heaviest part of the stick, and after eliminating it, spread the weight evenly over the entire stick, you have a perfectly balanced feel. it's just shorter and easier to control.
do not use the excuse that you cannot reach some stretch shots. i carry my own bridge head for my break cue.
