Hi AZ Members,

I just bought a custom Jump/Break cue from Ted Harris and received it the other day and must say it is outstanding and beyond belief. I have had numerous cues and liquidated a collection of 46 cues recently as part of a friends estate and played with numerous bushka's and szamboti's over the years and Ted's work was superior in play then all that I have tried with the exception of my playing cue and back up. I just wanted to say thank you for a job well done and a happy customer.

Great to hear and Ted seems like a real nice guy.

Mind sharing with us what your main cue and backup are?

Regards,
Dave

Let me guess, your last name is Harris too.

King Kong plays with a Black Boar  -- at least the last time I checked! ;)

About Ted Harris' jump cues, a short time ago I ran into Jump-Ball Mechanic Danny Green at a local event. He pulled out this really older-looking jump cue, kind of the plain-vanilla variety with no decorations, and told me that Ted Harris custom-made it many, many years ago specifically for him.

A couple of the players tried it out, jumping balls on the fly, and everybody wanted that jump stick. Danny said he wouldn't take a thousand dollars for it, that it is his secret weapon. ;)

Thanks Jam,

I spent hours working with Tony at Black Boar getting my playing cue right for me. I was shocked when Teddy duplicated that Balance point, Hit, & Feel. He made my jump/play/break cue with two shafts one Phenilic and one regular. I hit with the regular and was floored by the cue and the hit. I too know of Danny's talent and his jumping prowess. It made sense to ask teddy to make me one when I decided to take my game more serious and realized how important the break and jump have become.

My second cue is a Tim Scruggs that I stumbled on in the collection that hit jam up. Keith hit some with it for awhile because he liked it as well. I could not let it part at the time for fear of something happening to my primary cue and while I am out and about I could wind up stuck with out a cue that I could play with if it all of a sudden it got legs and walked. Jose Parica raved about it as well. SO, I am confident in my cue knowledge when I say it hits jam up!!!

Hi King Kong,

It's great to hear that you got a nice cue.
May I ask you how long you got your cue from Ted after placing your order?
Thank you.

Hi Eddie,

Thanks for the question. It took me 3 months to get my cue. I ordered in April and recieved in June/July. Teddy thought it would be sooner because he did not factor in the time he needed to get his new shop organized and going like he wanted it and was using his judgement which was under optimal conditions when he qouted me a slightly earlier delivery date. All in all, I am extremely tickled!

Hi King Kong,

Thanks for your reply. I have a different experience in doing bussiness with Ted Harris.
3 months is very fast. Ted told me 3 months when I placed my order for 4 cues. But I have waited almost 4 years and still can't get all my cues. ( 4 cues ordered, 2 still due)
It seems that Ted is cheating his oversea customers.

I am sorry for the strong words but I had paid all the money 2 years ago, snice then Ted don't reply my emails.
I could get the 2 cues because of the help of Roy@IndyQ, otherwise I can probably get nothing till now.

King Kong, I know you were happy that you got a good cue from Ted Harris and wanted to say something good for him. Sorry I said a different story of Ted Harris, but in the fisrt I thought you might wait a long time to get yor cue. Now I know Ted Harris is still making cues just not my cues.

Hi Eddie,

Are you sure you aren't thinking of Richard Harris? I know Roy sells Blue Grass cues but had no idea he dealt Ted's. Either way I hope you get what you paid for.

Hi Dave,

I am sorry I didn't say it clear. I placed my order directly to Ted Harris. Roy helped me to neigotiate with Ted, he didn't make a cent for this.
I ordered Ted Harris cues for my friends, I know Richard Harris cues are good cues. Thanks. :)
