Cue popularity by region

In my little part of the world there are plenty of everything. Steve Dunkel though is a local guy that has developed a good following with local players.

I just started to venture out from my home table to play in leagues (3 matches in) and I did notice a lot of people seem to have meucci cues around here (NC coastal region). I joked with a player on my first week that there must have been a good sale in the area since almost everyone has one.

Keith and Sherri Josey are top of the heap. Built me a sneaky 2012. Last year I sent him my 2 Rick Howard shafts for him to turn down to 12.75. Excellent service and very reasonable.
If I ever consider ordering another custom, these 2 folks would be my only consideration !!!

I seriously need to order me one. He's 20 minutes from my house...... why don't I have a Josey???!!!!1

Perhaps you need to review?
Common sense would say you don't want to bet there werentmore Scruggs cues sold within 200mi radius of Baltimore than any other equally-sized circle.

I dunno....maybe per capita if you base cue ownership on something like that.
Doesn’t matter how much money there is or was in Baltimore then or now.

Just mull over the population difference with the other 49 states vs a 200 mi.
radius. This is just a silly debate that makes little sense when you really think
about it. Tim was a great cue-maker and person and I enjoy owning one of his
pool cues.....flat faced ivory radial pin......and the darn cue plays magnificently.

Billy Stroud,Joss cues is the onlycue maker that I think
was popular everywhere and not just regionally
He was known everywhere in the 70s,he made about the same cue as George or Gus
a basic 4 pointer but he made more and his name was known by more everyday players

Later when he saw the Box cue by ernie,Billy took the bull by the horns,Danny went mass production

Timwent his way and Billy created the pool cue craze with high tech beautiful cues with designs quality and dependable service, quality and good delivery times

Who would have expected this from the proto hustler himself?

Dangerous in the pool room, dependable highly ethical in thae business world

It would be interesting if Billy spoke to us about regional preferences

I’m from Mississippi and Esperitu cues are really popular. Never been a huge fan. Meucci, McDermott, and predator are common as well
