I have the itch for another cue.

I have two in mind.

One is a 2002 Gilbert, 4 point, 2 shafts.

One is a brand new Blackcreek sneaky type cue with 4 points, with synthetic Hoppe ring and two shafts.

I already have a Gilbert J/B that I love to death. It is one of the best hitting cues I have ever had in my hands. I am converting it to a player cue and no longer a Break cue.

I don't want to just jump on the Gilbert and have it possibly not be as good as my J/B. I don't want to buy from a maker I am not very familiar with.

Any suggestions, advice is greatly appreciated. Which of the two I have listed do you prefer? What are some of the pros and cons you have heard about either of the makes I mentioned above?

Next year is less than one month. If you can only buy one cue wait for the SW. Get it and see what you think about it. If it doesn't suit you than do llike everyone else and flip it.

The SW will be easier to get rid of.

I have a Gilbert and and a GIlbert j/b. and had the opportunity to play with a SW.

I have a 314 that fits the J/B and will occassionally use that combo. With either shafts it is a good player.

Between the GIlbert and the SW... I think the SW's are over rated but are better investments.

Buy a Gilbert

Andy's cues are all higher end!

Recomendation-high end

There is no option for a 2,500. Gilbert, when finnished an(09) One of the best bangs for the buck, look like its worth 4,000. I have heard good things about BlackCreek as well. Whats the cue For-resale or Player. Don't forget about getting a stroke as well(Scott Lee). The best cue in the world doesn't work without one! Have a great day Happy shopping, I'm assuming a Szamboti, JW ,Hercek, Balabuska ,Schick, Searing, are too expensive. Keep those dreams alive. mark

I think I may wait till Valley Forge and meet up with Andy and see what he has. There will also be a lot of other sellers there as well.

Waiting till next year for my SouthWest, means anytime next year. Laurie may not call me until October, then it is still another 6 months before delivery.
