Cue Shaft Wax - Will good old car wax work

What about trying a Ceramic spray for cars?
I have some Turtle Wax ceramic spray and if I had a shaft that I did not care about I would try it.

I would've tried those but the pro stuff was way too expensive. I got what the closest Walmart had; their Ice Seal 'n' Shine.

Ok. Finally got around to getting a bottle and using it. Tiny spritz on a half sheet paper towel folded to a couple inches square. Goes on wet and grippy but with some elbow grease, gives up the slide as it dries. Looking to be the slipperiest I've used so far. Let you know how durable it is in a couple weeks.

Here's a tip: When applying wax, preferably Renaissance wax, use your fingertip, not a rag. Rub it in lightly and the heat from your finger will cause the wax to develop into a liquid state and it will fill up the pores in the wood. Ten seconds after you remove your finger it will return to it's wax state. I then buff it with a paper towel. I have a clear half inch fuel line 4" long split down the middle. I lay the paper towel inside the fuel line and then the shaft into the paper towel. Then I buff, squeezing the paper towel. My shafts, maple and kiel wood, come out like glass. With the pores filled in, they never get dirty. Disclaimer: I do use a glove.

I use a different approach. My OB Classic shaft is perfect and since it is no longer being made, maintaining it is a priority. Sanding or rubbing any thing could reduce the diameter. I just use a glove when shooting.
