Cue Shopping On A Budget.

I've been playing pool pretty steadily for about a year or 2 now and I'm pretty decent although I still consider myself a beginner... I'm looking for a cue but I'm working with about 50-60 dollars. I just want to know some quality brands that are in my price range. I'm not asking that your recommend a particular stick but feel free to do so if you have any suggestions. Thanks

Based on your budget, your best bet for a brand new cue is a sneaky pete style cue. Thats what I bought two years ago for $40 when I first joined a league. I later sold it to a teammate who saw that it was a much better cue than the one he bought for twice the price.

For use cues, check the forsale section and stay with well known brand names.

Just get yourself a players brand sneaky pete. They say the have a warranty now and everything. If thats all you have to spend and your a beginner, there is nothing wrong with a player sneaky. I know some guys that only have the exact cue and are capeable of running rack after rack. Im sure after you get some experience and some more cash you will even catch the custom cue bug like the rest of us. And when it bites you it bites hard. Check out some of the guys on here that have buisnesses selling cue's maybe they can help you out or check innernet pool cue sites. Most every company sells players brand , hope this helps you <<ED

While I do agree the best bang for your buck under 60$ is probably going to be a sneaky pete. You can look at pool cues by price on Ebay or a websites similar to pooldawg http://www.pooldawg.com/shop-by-brand/pool-cue-cases I would also agree with measureman and save up a few more bucks and get something you will like more. Carfull with Ebay and other online orders you will have to pay shipping.

Best of luck in your search

Hi,
I realize this is not an answer to your question but I am offering my best advice. Wait and save, play the bar ques until you realize a maker that you want to drop your hard earned on. If you purchase a production cue as soon as you chalk it, you normally have something sure to depreciate. If you do the biz with a popular custom cue maker, you may find a much better return for your cash should you ever decide to sell it. $300+ or- opens a world of killer wood. Good luck, I hope you find "the one".

I just checked the Billiard Warehouse site and if you poke around a bit they have a lot of cues for $60 or so. Consider the $60 as throw away money until you can save up and do as one poster said, spend $300 or more. Anyway the $60 whatever you buy will probably be better then most house cues.
Just a thought you might try some pawn shops. Most of the cues i have found in pawn shops are little more then firewood or good for shooting around corners but you never know. Just make sure it is straight and all the parts are tight.

I think anything you find for 50 or 60 bucks will be a waste of money.
Try the for sale section. there are a couple of people selling some new cues for around 90 bucks or so
