Thanks to Will Prout with the coaching on how to store my small collection of cues. I finally got around to buying a safe. Will always told me the best way to store a cue is vertical and he had come up with this idea to hang the cues from the joint protectors. I bought a piece of lexan 1/4" thick, had it precut to the size of a shelf in the safe and drilled holes just big enough for the pin to go thru. I spaced the holes out evently, 2 inches apart across the sheet of lexan.
I did have to put a 2" x 2" piece of wood vertical from the floor of the safe to the piece of lexan to stop it from bowing so much, right in the middle. I just put a screw in the top of the 2 x 2 and screwed it into place on the lexan. I figure this will also insure if the shelf would actually fall over time.
I got the lexan from Home Depot but I see online they make all kinds - some that are even mirrored that might look cool if you weren't storing in a safe but wanted to show off in your home or billiard room.
Anyways, I caught Will while on vacation with his family but he still took the time out to help me. Thank you again sir.
