Cue Taper (for my Pal Joey)

It's a Bender shaft (unique threaded collar). Bender is the only one who has the machined thread.

Eventually I will have Mike Bender make an OB 1 shaft for my new Bender cue as soon as I have settled in with it.

At some time in the future, I will decide on PERMANENTLY using a low deflection shaft or a regular maple shaft with particular taper.
thanks,
JoeyA
There is a way to get to the center of that collar without using the threaded hole at all.

Joey, I have around 150bf of unused 60 year old Brunswick bowling alley maple. I have made a handful of shafts from it. It's old wood, but still maple. It's not any better or even as good in general as good maple selected specifically for shafts. It's roughly the same ratio of use/lose as any maple. Some has runout, some warps, some just isn't good & grain count varies. I hand pick all of my lumber, sometimes even cutting my own trees. The bowling alley wood is not as good as my stuff. But it is 60 years old unused Brunswick bowling alley wood so there's some nostalgia & prestige that my "chosen" wood does not have.

I'm giving most of it away to my father to use as counter tops in a new cabin he's building. If you'd like a shaft dowel, let me know.

Thanks very much for the offer. I'll take your word for it and pass on the opportunity to obtain a bit of nostalgia. I'm more into performance than collecting but thanks for thinking about me. It was very nice of you.
