Cue tech room at the Riviera

What are the details? When are they holding classes? What are they teaching? Where is it located? Anything else you can think of. This is the room that randyg and scott lee are having at the Riv.

Well I don't know where or when it is, but you should definitely jump at the chance to learn from those two instructors!
 
i would say its most likely in one of the convention rooms, theres only one hallway so you cant miss them. or maybe which i doubt, they could also be in one of the boxes that overlooks the large convention room. i think that is where allison fisher was giving lessons a couple weeks ago.
 
Yeah...I know the hallway you speak of. I guess that I will have to wait until randyg or scott lee speak up and let me know how they are running this. Is it a class...3-day thing or a case by case basis on what you would like to learn?

The Cue Tech room will be in one of the rooms right across the hall from the main tournament room at the Riv. There will be signage in front of the room. It will be open from 11am-5pm, Monday through Friday, and is open to any interested BCA player. Several BCA instructors (Randy and I among them) will be giving FREE tips to any player, about anything they would like to know. Private lessons, one-on-one, are available, after hours, for our normal rates. Cue Tech pool school is not to be confused with Cuetec cues.

Just for clarification, is a player required to be a BCA member (league, etc) to participate in this?

Do you think it is a good idea to do lessons during match play...i.e. between matches? I will be playing in the team event but don't think that it would be a good idea to go through any lessons while playing in the tournament. When I get out of the tournament...I might be interested or if you don't think that it would hurt that much or we wouldn't change that much then it may go ahead while we are still in. Maybe it will help my play quite a bit and help us in the tournament. Will you let me know when is the latest that you would be available? How much are your rates? You can pm if you would rather discuss this privately. How long do you recommend sessions to last to get enough out of them? I have taken lessons from woody_968 and would like to take more.
 
I think that taking lessons anytime, even during competition, has the potential to help or hurt your immediate playing. Some students have seen a remarkable improvement immediately, while others needed time to absorb and integrate the new information. I guess it would depend on what you wanted to work on (and how strong your fundamentals already are), whether it would hinder or help you. I have access to our room at all hours, so we could get together any time that worked for you, be it before we open in the morning, or after hours in the evening. My rates are listed on my website, but are no secret...$75/hr, with a two hour minimum. Guaranteed improvement, and you get a video of your lesson to take home. Come by and see me, and we'll work something out. Woody is a fine player and a good instructor. He and I worked together before he got his certification.

Yes...this is separate from the AzB room. We will be in the same hall as the main tournament room, immediately to the right, in one of the side rooms. The AzB room is in a skybox suite (#205).

You can get a little more information about Pool School at the Riviera in the BCA tournament program, http://playbca.com/portals/0/2007_8Ball/program.pdf. Check out the bottom of page 2 for details, and page 13 for a map of the location.

There will be several BCA instructors from around the country participating in the pool school, including Brad Hornshaw and myself from the Cascade Cue College.
