Cue tip

I know this has been talked about over and over again.

I want people's opinions on which tip is the closest to an old Moori out of the tin. I have used kamui med and supersoft. Didn't like either. The med was a brown clear. It felt too hard. I used the black clear supersoft and it felt like it glazed over and I miss cued more often. I currently have a lepro and it's not bad I just don't get the feel of the Moori med.

Thanks in advance for the reply,

James

Hi James,
Personally I don't know the truth of what happened and who did this or that.
But you might find this link interesting.

I have Moori medium tips in stock in stock, Shocking isn't it.

You might try a Triangle tip or a Ultra Skin , Tom Hay is also a AZB Member and the man goes miles for each and every customer, I have many transaction with the man and his service is solid .
..

Milk dud's  < I don't have those in stock >. Renagade 56 I think makes those.

You can try buying some tips from Joe Barringer , His prices at extremely competitive.

I have most of the tips in stock that I mentioned too.
You could post this in ask the cue maker section too.

Good luck with your search.

Finally, a thread you can sink your teeth into.
The best Mooris, in my opinion, were the mediums from around ten years ago. I believe the old man was still making them at that time. Since then they hardened up some and no longer fit what I would call a medium tip.
The Ultra Skin is a great cue tip. The medium and soft are both great players.
The new limited edition tips from Steamer Cue Sports Ltd. are fantastic. Called the FourSkin, these tips are available in limp, kinda hard, and damned hard. A new break tip is available named the Diamond Cutter. It's so hard you can scratch a windshield with it.

Tramp I need to try those Four Skin tips they sound like they will be a great seller. Does it matter what the ethnicity of the Tips are? I'm guessing the animal they are made from comes from the Jewish line. The cost should be minimal if so.

I find the Wizard medium brown tips are excellent tips.
No worse, possibly even better, than the old Moori's were.
I've just about replaced the tips in all my playing cues to have these medium Wizard brown.
For me at least they work like a charm.

No, Allen. We here at Steamer Cue Sports Ltd. pride ourselves in our all inclusive tip material selection. We've found that in comparison testing with other tips, the FourSkin, quite simply, can't be beat. Also, if these tips were any cheaper we'd be giving them away.

but friends of mine that loved the old Moori tips tell me that Wizard tips play very close.

You would be correct on that according to many peoples opinions.

Wizards are a very well made tip despite the low price. Put one on and most people wouldn't see the difference between the two, for a start.

I like them just fine. Other than a Wizzard, for all around playability and great price, the Ultra Skin might be a good choice to try out. Most players that try them are hooked. A few Makers also install them on their cues unless one asks for something different.

Have a few original Mooris left and keeping them for my die hard customers.

I never used a Moori but I always liked Triangle tips, good response not too hard but hold their shape well.

Hi Tramp. How do you go about purchasing these tips?

Oh, crap. Sooner, or later, somebody had to ask.

Well, it's like this billy, we here at Steamer Cue Sports are so swamped with orders that the only thing we can do, at this time, is put your name on the back order list and hope for the best (yeah, that's the ticket). You will be notified just as soon as production can catch up with demand. Rest assured that our people are combing hospitals from Boston harbor to Waikiki Beach, looking for tip material, even as we speak.

Remember: FourSkin tips from SCSL. "You just can't beat em'."
