Today, there are all sorts of cue tips. My question is do varies cue tips affect a cue shafts deflection? I have been using a Kumui clear medium on a Tascarella 20 oz cue! It’s a stiff shaft and firm hit. Recently, a team mate in my league went to a Kumui soft! I tried it and ugh! Way too soft for me. So soft it would appear that over time it could cause deflection versus a hard tip like a Le Pro. It changed the entire feel of the cue. Almost to the point that his heavy stiff shaft at 4.4 oz was offset by the soft tip. My point is do soft layered tips compromise a great shaft that has very low deflection? All input appreciated!!
