Hello Guys,

i've a problem maintaining a straight stroke and my back stroke seems to curl inwards towards my body before moving out and many ppl has commented that my stroke seems to be swaying instead of moving in a straight line.

I've tried many things like 3rd eye stroke trainer n bottle drill but to no avail but im thinking the cue trac will work best as it forces my stroke to be straight by cueing through the stroking device.

Therefore, can anyone help me out if you know where can i find a cue trac stroke trainer ??
I've posted on the sale n buy forum but never got a reply.

Thanks
Ryan

Long before all the modern training aids we used a little coke bottle, that ought to tell you how long ago it was, and practice for 10 to 15 minutes in a row of running the cue into the opening without touching the sides. Still one of the best drills I know of.--Smitty

Of course with no one actually seeing your stance, stroke, delivery, its pretty impossible to firstly assume this issue you feel is affecting your game is really doing so, and secondly, trying to suggest a specific cure to it, which may or may not even address any problem.

There are many world class players with crazy strokes.

Have you ever given time to shooting the cue ball straight up and down the table, back between 2 balls spaced apart a half inch wider than the cue ball?

It may not matter how your arm is moving as much as you think it might if at the moment of contact you're delivery is true.

Agree. It doesn't lie. It reinforces muscle memory. I often drop what I'm doing, screw the cue together, lay a coke bottle on the dining room table and knock it out. The older I get, the more I need to reinforce things, as my old bones want to ruin my stroke...

How do you practice with the bottle. I was going through some drills at my favorite practice spot there's one 9 footer and the owner lets me practice for free if im in there before the regulars come in . I grabbed one of my empty miller bottles and tried it . never hit the sides but once your stroking do you stop pick the stick up than do it again or you just sit there and stroke till your hearts content. I had zero problems with making it in the bottle and thought this was a joke you guys played on newbies so I never did it again .

line up on the rail so the cue is DIRECTLY over the diamonds
stroke back and forth making sure the cue stick stays over the diamonds

another suggestion
watch your cue and be sure during the backstroke its in a straight line

Not sure you are still interested, but I have one ... since the company is out of business, they are very scarce and most are owned by very serious players or instructors.

Yes, it will change your stroke for the better .. it helped me.

This one came all the way from Singapore and I had to wait about 3 months for it to arrive.

Was considering posting with another device (cue action trainer - nic barrow) to trade for a couple of cues.

Send me a note at john_oleson@comcast.net

Happy New Year!!
