Cue vanity...

I play with a $150 plain jane maple cue with raised rings, glazed over linen wrap and ugly brown stain and have been searching at least ten years for a nice custom that plays as good or better(to me) but never have found one. The upside is that the customs I bought are all "lightly used" so they have better resale value!
 
This reminds me of the story of my very first cue. I picked it up from a flea market back in the early eighties. It was a no name two piece cue that came with a soft vinyl case with a fur liner. The guy who sold it to me looked like he'd had " a pretty rough paper route" in his day and only had about 5 other items on his table besides this cue. As I paid him the $20.00 he put his hand out to shake mine, smiled and said " I hope this cue brings you as much luck as it has me". :eek:
 
i'll throw this analogy out there. would you make an ugly chick your every day chick if she was as much fun as a pretty one?

The first cue I got for my wife was a purple Players cue. A decent $100 cue that played ok, and I didn't freak out when she knocked it around. A couple years later she graduated up to a Rick Howard cue. 6 high-low points of purpleheart into birdseye maple. It's a REALLY nice custom cue that still looks somewhat feminine.

Katie Girl, I believe the more you play and the better you get, you'll probably start leaning toward that type of cue. Less of a painted up, decal covered girlie cue, and more of a real cue with some female charm.
 
Just like dating a fat girl or riding a moped...... it's all fun 'til your buddies catch ya doing it... I prefer playing w the sexy ones.... girls and cues alike..
