Ladies and Gents,

Just wondering what weight cue you play with and the shaft sizes in MM.

Years back it was 19.3 to 4.... and 13mm. whats yours?

Please do not name brands of cues in respect for those who would not get named. Ok?

Hello Blud,
I play with a 19oz. cue with 12mm shafts. By the way, love your cues. I'll try to save up some $$$ to purchase one :) .

21oz 13mm...but i need to taper it down a bit...i just got used to it cause it came like that. probably needs to be around 12.5

I'm the same as Cardinal: 21oz and 13mm. However, instead of wanting my shaft tapered down, I'm finding that I enjoy an even heavier cue - around 22-23oz.

Hey Blud,

I play with a 19oz. with 12.75mm shaft and a 19.3oz. with a 13mm shaft.

Hope all is well!
Jim

Normally I play with a 20 oz with a 11.8mm, but I just got a new cue that is 18.4 oz and has 12.5 with a straight taper. I will probably have at least an oz added next week to get it closer to the old cue. I may eventually have the shaft slimmed a little, but I want to stay with the 12.5mm for at least a month to see if I can get used to it.

No. 1 cue is 18.5 oz with 12.75 mm tip/ferrule diameter, "semi-pro" taper, well known cue maker.
No. 2 cue is 18.75 oz with 12.8mm tip/ferrule diameter, "semi-pro" taper, not well known cue maker.

19oz with a 12.3mm 0.5" ferrule and semi pro taper

i like my playing cues to be around 18.25 to 18.5 oz, 12.75 mm with about a 12" to 14" taper.

my break cue/shaft a lil lighter, around 18 oz with only about a 10" taper but about 13.5 mm.

I play with a 19oz cue with 13mm shafts. I personally prefer a lighter cue, nothing more than 19.3oz. 12.5mm to 12.75mm shafts would be ideal, but 13mms are just fine.

A couple of examples, one gentleman at my local pool hall plays with a 18.25oz cue with 12.5mm shafts. Another guys plays with a 17.8oz cue with 12.5mm shafts! Now that is light!

Hey Blud, I don't think this data is reliable. Nothing against the people who answered, but two people measuring the same cue will most likely get different results. Especially if they are using those plastic hole gages for the tip diameter. They flex quite a bit and depending on how "tight" of a fit you think they should have, you can end up with a large error. As far as weight goes, many people "know" how much their cues weigh, but then when they actually put them on a scale, their estimate was quite wrong.

If you want some type of average, you should probably go to your local rooms and weigh and measure each cue yourself, using your own instruments.

Good points and good post...what good does posting an "average" of cues here have to do with anything? Unless everyone has a very accurate digital scale, you aren't going to get the same results you will with one of those spring loaded food scales either.

Why don't YOU, BLUD, just post an average of all the cues you've made over the last year or so. Tell us some of the weights, tip sizes, and tapers, of some of the big name pro's that you've made cues for and we can compare our specs out to the majority averages and the pro averages. I have 17 cues and 32 shafts, many of which will weigh out differently just from a shaft change. I don't think you have enough fingers and toes to add all of that up and do an average.

Hi rich, I am just getting a national average for an up coming story to be written by me. I realize that the information might be a guess from some. I am taking that into consideration as well.

POOL-ROOMS,
I have not the time to go to the pool rooms, the closet one is 264 miles round trip. I live in the sticks. Only drive-by shootings, is if were huntin wild hogs.........

For those of you who have answered, many thanks to you, for doing so.

Can't count, or add,
For thoses who don't have enough fingers and toes, borrow an adding machine from some child, who does not like foul talk, here or elseware..or just IGNORE the thread........

For thoses who care not to give there information, no problem. I thank you for your time anyway.....

This thread is hurting no one. But some folks like to complain, and do make a mountain out of a mole-hill.....

As far as the PRO'S, information goes, names and info-, will be in the story, for all to read...
