cue weight sos

On a 58" cue, what is considered a forward balanced cue and a back balance cue? Many variables come into play, but generally speaking..
I haven't paid attention to balance point for quite a while, but I think 19 inches from the butt used to be sort of standard for 57" cues. It seems to me that the balance point should actually be measured from the tip since the part behind your grip hand doesn't matter, and it is the tip at the cue ball, your bridge length and your stance that determines where you grip.

forget all that stuff and play pool

i have yet to meet a really good player who talked about details like this

if you like it fine,if not sell it

hi deano, you got me..I'll take the 5:D

I get the sentiment tho..I've shot more pool with a house cue on dirty nap than anywhere else
golly, I didn't even have my own cue until a few years back..
and then I signed up for this forum
and learned that the pool world was much bigger than in my dimly-lit, dust-covered corner..
as a result, I'm proud to say that after so much watching, studying, reading, and writing,
I've never shot better pool.

thanks all for the replies!!

When you realize the best players have devoted their lives to nothing but pool, and mostly before much technical info was widely known, it isn’t surprising that many never learned details like these. Don’t make the common mistake of reading too much into it.
