Cue wrap most like wrapless

I have a Meucci with an exposed linen wrap. I used shaft sealer on it and buffed it.

You wouldn't know that you were holding a cue with a linen wrap on it. It is that smooth.

It is pressed that tight that you also have to look real close to see any lines between the linen also.

I have both, but like the wrapless feel. I have a really nice playing McDermott D4 that has a nylon wrap. Would putting a finish on it be ok for getting rid of that slippery nylon feeling?

I'm far from a expert on the subject, but I would recomend a stacked leather wrap. Those wraps can be burnished to the point where it almost feels like there is no wrap.
Just to be sure, I would ask the same question in the ask the cuemaker section.

Luke I bought a Scott Gracio cue for my girlfriend and she prefers wrapless as well so I had it rewrapped by Rick Howard with a black linen wrap and He refinished over the cue and she hasn't had a problem with it looks like it has an ebony handle now. Here's a before and after if it helps.

I have had a couple cues that had slippery linen wraps which I did not care for. On both of them, I sprayed a few coats of polyurethane over the wrap and

love how they turned out. If you're going to replace the wrap, you might as well try it as it is essentially free and will be much closer to a wrapless feel

than any leather or other material. Just make sure you're careful to mask off the rest of the cue. The other option you could explore if you're just

trying to make it a little less slippery, is to apply a mixture of white elmers and water -it's either 1 part glue 1 part water or 1 part glue 2 parts water I

forget. Just wipe if on and off with a rag. You don't want to let it stay on the wrap for very long...you're just coating it. I'm not sure how this would work

with a nylon wrap. I've only done it with linen.

Wow!!! Thats amazing that that is the same cue and not a different wrapless cue.
 
McDermott also had cork available on the D-4... I also have the nylon on mine. It appears you aren't worried about keeping original... but I thought I would add that to the mix.
 
That's brutal. I was just kidding not a fan of Meuci, although his red dot scam was smart.
