I just wanted to take a minute to give some major props out Jim Pierce of PierceCustomCues. A couple of weeks ago I started talking to Jim because a few AZ'ers pointed me his way as a "Up and Comer". Well he may be considered a new cuemaker but his Pool Chops are pretty stellar. He comes from great genes, (Jimmy Cara's nephew), he knows all the shots, and has a great personality and can "cue speak" with the best of them! Not to mention his workmanship on the cues themselves. I am very impressed. He is currently making me a "one-of" that I am VERY excited about, (don't worry I will post pics), so you can all share :) But the purpose of this post is to share something he did for me without any cajoling from me...I have owned 100's of cues, usually only 1-4 at a time though. Over the last month I have been trading and selling a lot, some of my trades and or sales I have never even touched the cues, I was just the one who initiated the process and worked the deals. Well last week after a night playing, a guy comes in looking for a cheap cue. I happened to be playing with an old Joss, he hit a few balls with it and a deal was struck. It was not until I got home that I realized I had just sold my only "player" cue...at home were 2 break cues, but no cues to shoot with!!! Now here I am at least 3 months out from having a cue to play with because I am an idiot;) Well on a whim I sent Jim a text to see if he had a cheap player I could use/borrow/buy...in less than 5 minutes I got a text back saying he would send one next week! All I can say is AWESOME! He is finishing up one that he was in the process of making and sending it to me. He said I can use it for as long as I want and send it back when my nice one gets done! Now to be clear I had already paid for the other cue, so he had no ulterior motive, he is just a Great guy! I have never had a cuemaker "loan" me a 500.00 cue "just because". Anyone out there looking for a great cue from an even better person needs to look Jim up. They don't come any better.

When I finally got my eyes off your avatar I read your post.

That's one helluva gesture on the part of the cue maker. Well done Mr Pierce.

Good guy ,,good cuemaker

Reading this about your experience with Jim Pierce, I can say of the same that I had with him. He is a all around good guy that wants his customers to be happy now matter what it takes. I been back and forth with him with cues in the works for close to a year. And in the end and the different cues were all great players but in the end I have to say this last cue that I recieved he hit the nail on the head and this one was everything I wanted. So all in all I know what your saying about the kind of person Jim is and I hope others reading this just brings him more and more buisness cause he works hard to make his customers happy and he builds a hell of a cue on top of being a all around nice guy..Keep putting out those cues Jimbo !! << ED

Hey ED!! I've heard about you...LOL! All good :) Have you got some pics of your Pierce cues?

Jim went above and beyond for me as well.. His customer service is top notch. He is one of the good guys in the business for sure..

Jim is one of those guys that knows no strangers. Everyone he meets or talks to immediatley become friends with him because he is just a really nice guy.

Not only is he a nice guy but he is also an AWESOME cue builder. He takes pride in every cue he builds. I have owned/sold 10+ of his cues and they were all flawless.

A great post Jon! I've known Jim for several years, both of us being local in Modesto, CA. I have been "HYPING" Jim's stuff on AZB for about a year. I've got a bunch of his cues, and have pretty much sold off everything else I own, with the exception of a 1 of 1 with my name on it, so, I doubt anyone else would want it. His cues are the only ones I play with any more.

Jim has gone far and away to do what it takes to have a happy customer. If there is some flaw in a cue, he will make it right. I laugh and keep saying, "Every time I think I've got his best work, he turns out three or four that knock my eyes out"! If I had the money, I'd be his ONLY customer.

He has since moved his operation to Idaho. He is busting his butt to get his cues out. Those of you who already have his cues know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. The hit from his cues, especially from the "BOWLING ALLEY" wood shafts is incomparable. Those of you who don't know, you'd better find out fast, because it's going to be soon that They are going to be harder to get and more $$$$$$$.

Jim is a "PLAYER", who makes "PLAYERS" for players. If anyone needs to contact Jim personally, or has questions, he can be contacted at "piercecustomcues@gmail.com", or contact me at "tpredes@sbcglobal.net" and I will forward your info directly to him.

You might pay more money (now), but won't find a better cue.
