Hi. Im wondering if any of you guys ever heard a cuemaker named Charlie Yoss? I recently came into ownership of one of his cues. it s very well made. Im wanting any info on the guy. Is he alive and still building, is he retired from cuemaking, or was it just a hobby of his. Any info would be appreciated? thanks guys.

Post some pictures and some closeups of the signature please.
 
I have a pair of cues of his from 2004 and just trying to get some info on the maker. Matching jump brake and shooting cue.

How did you find out? His name was Charlie Yoss?
 
they play great and are in great shape for being 21 years old. i was just trying to get in touch with him if he is still living.

With all the "I'll show mine, if you show yours" threads going on, I thought I would give it a try. I love classic cues. So I thought I would give a chance for everyone to show off either their old (80s and older) Joss or Joss West. Let's see 'em.

Thread 'Joss "Hand made " pool cue, Sharp points'

I noticed another azer had one of these listed and it was sold so i figure nows a good time to post one of mine.

These cues were made for the 2012 super billiards expo. yes they are a bit more expensive because they are not cnc'd production cues. These 2 cues have short spliced points and are cored for weight control purposes.

I provided a link to my website with prices and specs of of each cue under each picture. i will consider any reasonable offer. I will not accept offers of half price sorry. just Pm me if you have any questions or need more info or pictures.

Thread 'Fs yoss custom j/b cue'

Hey guys im looking to sell this custom made charlie yoss jump break cue. Cue has a birdseye maple forearm and butt with an ebony handle. Maple block ringwork at the joint, butt, and shaft collar. Joint is a 5/16 18 pin with a brass insert in the shaft. Shaft has a phenolic ferrule with a new samsara j/b tip installed. Total cue weight is 19.1oz. Cue breaks great and jumps with ease.

Price is $135 delivered

Thread 'First Joss cue impressions'

Been on a quest for the goldy lox cue. Went thru several production brands. I'll own another custom some day. Joss was off my radar but after re-watching color of money I decided to send it on a limited N7.

Its the best cue I have shot with period. The control is amazing, plenty of power, the 30 inch HP maple shaft feels close to solid maple with still being L/D.

When I swing this thing it make contact with the cue ball it feels like a sewing machine it's the only way I can describe it. The HP shaft comes with tips handmade by joss and I am glad I didn't swap it. Holds chalk great plays...

Sorry if this has been asked but I dont see it.
Am thinking of a Joss cue, and they are pretty, but there are several series I think, and I don't know what the difference is because every one of them says made in the USA.

Are any of these made outside the US or at an outsourced factory?

I see the 10-xx and 20-xx series in the Joss website (10-03, 10-02, 20-19, 20-37, 20-34, 20-124)
I also see JOSxxx in like Ebay stores (JOS173, JOS55, JOS44, JOS171)
I also see LJxx series (LJ20, LJ30, LJ40, LJ50)
And I have also been seeing the MJ series (MJ206, MJ207, MJ208, MJ209)

Joss Cue's has been around since 1968 , They have been building cues for several years now and after many years being away from the game and starting to get back into it wondered what the consensus was on the Joss brand. I had one about 20 years ago and liked it . It seem to play really we'll. I have spoken with Mr Janes and he seems like a really nice guy. Our area of the day was really big in Meucci and a lot of players around here really liked them, We had 5 pool halls at one time many years ago . I have been looking at the Joss cue line and wanted to get some...
