Cues and Guitars.....are they so different?

Great cues and a real kick a$$ guitar! More punk than punk! My Junior had two P90s but I prefer the single pick up model like yours.

Les Paul

Nick,

I used to have a Les Paul like that one back in the 60's. That is one of my guitars I wish I had back. Very nice

Cue trade for it?

Thanks Guys!

Just sharing. The neck is perfect! I have had it since 1978. 30 years now. It is a monster. And best yet it is light too! I should be playing it not pool! I paid $340.00 for it in 1978 with the origional California Girl Hardshell case! Now they are close to 10K with no case. Greenday really shot the value of the Jr's through the roof!
Si, it seems we are in good company! And yes it is a screamer. Panhdlce can blow this thread through the roof. Lets see if he does.
Congrats,
Nick :)

I guess most of you know that Bob Runde was an instrument maker before he turned to cues. I have known one other guitar maker who also made cues and he used the same principles of tonal quality when selecting wood for the cues. His cues hit great as do Runde's. Correlation?

But we are speaking of aesthetics as well and there is no doubt that guitars provide a wonderful showcase for art in wood.

Both guitars and cues are functional art and in the hands of masters they bring much joy to those who use them and those who get to be part of the show.

Art? Not mine!

My axe is a kick in the balls! It breaths fire. As far as astetics from 1-10 it is a solid 3.

Well said John, and what a coincidence. I heard the same story about Bob Runde this afternoon from a friend.

The biggest difference I can see is you don't to FRET about the cues.

This is my favorite little axe. More of a Frankenstein guitar. And a killer with the EMGs.

The top on my Music Man will give the 5 and the break to any PRS 10 top. hehe!!! And she looks so good next to Mr. White.

Seriously though, this guitar really does have a nice cap on it. I know, you're thinking "MULLY, you have a pink guitar for God's sake!" Well, when you're wife gives you a guitar as a X-mas present you don't complain about the color......especially because she thinks it's cute. It kind of bothered me at first getting on stage with a pink guitar but I don't even think about it anymore. Pink is also a kind of rare color for these guitars so.....

Both handcrafted from exotic woods. They are both beautiful and they are both fit for purpose. Showman, Szamboti and Paul Reed Smith.

The Paul Reed Smith is a Custom 22 Artist, quilted maple (Artist Grade), mahogany, abalone and Brazilian rosewood, one of the finest guitars I have ever owned. The Showman and Szamboti.....well.....the best of the best also.

I can't run a five pack with the PRS but then I can't do Santana licks on the Szamboti and Showman:)

Just a different thread.....showing cues with a twist. Anymore guitar/cue combos out there people want to share?

I had a really nice Wolfgang up until about 2 or 3 months ago. Next I'm looking to build my own strat type guitar from parts made by Warmoth. Gonna take it slow though and make sure I get the right body.

My main squeeze......Carvin with stock Carvin pickups, swamp ash body, ebony finger board, Sperzel locking machine heads and a Wilkinson trem. So versatile its untrue. Cues are Szamboti, Thoroughbred, Szamboti. So classic its untrue, he, he!!

The Engles case is worth a mention also. All hand carved from top to bottom by a top saddle maker.

Warmoth

Hey Mully, I built this Warmoth Explorer. Great company to deal with and everything was top notch. The Birdseye maple neck (Charvel thin) feels amazing. I've been playing on this beater for 15 years now and she still tears it up. Here it is with a new coat of paint I did last year for a gig. I never realized how much it looks like my Chaos cue till I put them side by side for this pic. Thanks! :D

I'll have to get some pics all together but here's a start since I kinda have a PRS thing. . .

Yeah, I've been wanting to do a Warmoth for a long time but I just can't find the body I want. There was one last year and by the time I contacted them it was gone.
