Cues used in "The Color of Money"?

There was a Schon cue used by Keith's character, Grady Seasons. Thats the only non-joss cue I knew of in the movie.

IIRC, Keith's cue had a white plastic or ivory joint. Never seen a Schon with one. Now that I think about it, you may be referring to the cue Grady Mathews used.

While I have not watched the film THAT close, I know Mr. McDermott gave the company 80 cues to do with what they wanted. That might explain the card cue or the ivory jointed looking thing. The only one I noticed in the film, was the C-3 that Forrest Whittaker used to bust Newman with.

I just watched it in HD last night. It was a grey stained C-3 that he was playing with.

Anyone have a full shot of this cue from Joss? I'm curious what the forearm looks like. The movie never really gives a good shot of it.

HD too funny... you do realize that the ability to record something in HD didn't exist prior to sayyyyy 1995 or so...

the film print of any movie is less than HD though it was the best for all time prior to 95ish

TCOM in HD doesn't exist the equipment required to film in HD wasn't invented yet....

so there is no such thing as TCOM in HD...

regardless of what channel you watched it on...

so my vhs of TCOM will show just as much detail as your HD version because thay came from the same place....and in the same quality...

sorry to nit pick but I am sick of hearing how much better John Ritter looks in the HD version of "threes company"

i have the newest of the LCD Sony Bravia plame TV's I get a new one every couple months and use my old ones somewhere else, so my main TV is the latest and greatest-what ever that means??.

There are movies from the 50s to 1990 that wernt shot in HDTV but they were shot using some format that look close to true HD, there are others that arnt, infact there are better DH cameras than others, baseball uses awesome ones, PGA tour are good at some events and ok at others or some are different hole to hole0the 1th awalys has the best cameras.

I dont know everything to know about HD but there are old movies that look amazing. I havent watched the COM is so many years I forgot about it. And it might be one of those movies that is remastered and cleaned up.

I havent seen that horse shoe cue in years- i realy like it

I always though that my upconvert player makes my old movies look amazing. I had TCOM on VHS, and I have it on DVD and there isnt a comparison in the two. I like it so much that I dont care where I watch it.

All the cues used in The Color of Money were Joss Cues.
The horse shoe cue, the card cue, Both cues used at the end of the movie by PN and TC were Joss Cues.
As were the house cues used in the early bar scene.
As I try to remember back there may have been one cue not a Joss but I would have to look at the movie again.
Something for the pool dectives to do find the cue not Joss. I'll try and look at it again in the next week or two and I'll post back telling you who played with it.

Joss Cues ltd

As I was told, the cue that Newman gave Cruise ended up in the hands of Henry Granis in Denver and he wouldn't let go of it thinking he had a real good investment. How he came about it I just can't remember and haven't ween Henry in about 15 years. That was his story though and he was always a pretty straight up guy.

80 McDermotts donated?

Maybe there really were 80 McDermotts donated by the company McDermott. That cue that Grady Seasons was playing with when he first ran into Tom Cruise at the pool hall when they met for the first time, that cue sure looks like the dark version of the McDermott D-17.
