For Colin's route, I looked long and hard at doing the same thing with the 4 and 5 balls, but thought I would get bashed for the difficult position after the 4 and the long shot on the 5. Plus, the route I was looking at used the 2 to slide over behind the 3, then used the 7 to transition nicely to the 4, leaving the 1 as the 8-ball position shot after the 5.
I think that works a bit better. Coming so far across the table with the draw off of the two just seems too dangerous to me.
