No John...I don't have a "hard on" for bashing Cuetec cues. This poll was constructed in a fair and honest manner.

I would like to know the "truth"...and if that's a sin, then God strike me down right now!

As far as John Barton...I hope you find the Lord and stop your attacks on everyone that disagrees with your views. And please stop talking about knocking me in the head...because everyone that know me, will tell you, that would be a HUGE mistake.

Peace...out!!!!!

LOL - Fair and Honest? Find the Lord? Are you on crack? Meth? Rat poison?

I don't think you could find Fair and Honest if they were the only two words in the dictionary.

Maybe you should stop telling people they deserve a smack on the head for disagreeing with YOUR misguided views. If I was as ignorant a troll hater as you have shown yourself to be on this subject then I would expect someone to knock me upside the head virtually and literally.

But you're right tough guy, knocking you upside the head for real would be a huge mistake because it would be a total waste of time, energy, and a good Cuetec.

I find it fairly unbelievable that people would really use a house cue over a cuetec. Hopefully the negative answers are not coming from people who have never played with one, and hopefully oceanweb has played with a Dale Perry before bashing his work. I have never played with a cuetec before, but I am sure their better cues rank above a house cue. Ask yourself honestly, if your life depended upon winning a game, which would you use. Take the usual fun of bashing cuetec out of the picture, and the bias of remaining old school with the cue out, and truely consider what the playability would be. I have not hit a cuetec before, so I hesitate to answer, but I would certainly grab that to try.

This is a great forum with a lot of great info. Sometimes, however, opinion without fact is rampantly expressed for the worst. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If you do not want to play with a cuetec because of the idea of the cue, that is your perogative, but I don't think acting like they suck if you have not played with one is fair. Most of the people who say they have played with one here say they are at least decent, while most of the negative comments do not reference actually having played with one.

House Q vs Cuetec

Decisions, decisions! Hmmm, let's c, House Q over here, and Cuetec over there!   Wonder which one is closer? :p

Dale Perry is such a great cuemaker...NOT!!! Boy, you are really moving up in the World!!

I really like my DP.It plays great, feels great and looks great.

You may not.I really don't give a $hit what you think of my cues.

The overall internet bashing of both cuetec and meucci has bewildered me only because I love mine and wouldn't trade em for the world.
Heck I've noticed a little of concerning DPs cues as well (much less).

I also know more then a few players that don't do much losing using one or the other....but how can that be you must wonder. An impossible thought I'd imagine.

Don't worry about it T-Ball, Greg (OceanWeb) probably can't drop three balls in a bucket.

He's just pissy cuz he knows that c-playaz can kick his ass using Cuetecs and wearing jackets covered in APA patches. As for DP I am sure he is pissed because DP is choosing to go direct on Ebay, which means that Greg can't make money skimming off newbies selling DP cues.

But, the good news is sports fans is that I heard the Lord is going to knock Greg upside the head and fill him with some sense and sensibility.

Ok...I feel like the guy that has to tell you that you're brother's dead. One day, it may be years from now, you will look back and ask yourself, "CueTec? what was I thinking"?

Bwaahaahaa, either that or the teacher who has to tell the student he has to go to summer school

I would use a house cue too, I can't stand the feel of the fiberglass shaft

The only thing uglier than oceanweb's statements on pool cues is Jessiedoll's avatar. Oh wait, is that thing jessie???

IMHO, a one-piece house cue in good condition with a good tip will play better than most two-piece cues (especially low-end production cues IE a Cuetech). Correct me if I am wrong but, I have always been told that a lot of cuemakers are striving to make their cues hit more like a one-piece cue.

Put a szamboti in the hands of a crappy player and a cuetec in the hands of a good player: The good player will win.

Put a solid wood house cue in the hands of a good player and a cuetec in the hands of a great player: The great player will win.

Give the worst cue to the best player and the best cue to the worst player. Guess what will happen.

It's the indian not the arrow. Anyone who says anything else is selling something.

dale perry cues in five years will be worth about as much as a Players or a good cup of coffee""i had one liked it ok.he does have some good work.but/if you want a good playing cue that keeps its value AT ALL buy from a respectable cue maker.........gilbert,joey gold, varney(recently learned of these and nobidy has complained),ect.everyone has a prefrence BUT protect your investment.

i guess earl's stay made a lasting impression. maybe that's why they fired him.

Why take a perfectly good piece of wood and cut it in half! Then fiberglass over it. I ain't going fishing! I don't like hitting a baseball with an aluminum bat either.:p Give me real wood cue.

On the flip side ,it would make a perfect hustler's cue. Because anyone seen with one of those will instantly be labeled a banger.

A hustler's cue? Maybe. Better yet would be a Minnesota Fats cue, or one of those 4 section cues...

I now find myself in the twilight zone. Hopefully, there are still a few "real" men out there that can be honest.

Ok guys....anyone care to stand up and tell it like it is?

Actually, come to think of it, I play with a Cuetec

It just not your regular fiberglass cue, it's an Excalibur sneaky pete, made by or sold by Cuetec. No fiberglass on that baby... and it sports a milk dud tip too.

Plays just fine.

Does that qualify as a real, golly-gee-whiz Cuetec?

I own a cuetec. I got it for free when I purchased my McDermott. It is a solid hitting cue, and as a break cue, it is a monster. I have never had anyone complain about how the cue plays. I loan it out when the house cues where I'm playing suck. The worst part is that I've had people beat me with my own stick....er....cue. Can't call it a stick because it's fiberglass with a graphite core.
That's my big complaint, I can't stand the feel of the cue. I broke great with it, but the slightest humidity, and I feel like I'd need to wear a glove. I ended up getting a jerico stinger, and in some respects the cuetec breaks better, but the feel of it.....I suppose I could have bought a glove to break with, like using a batting glove lol, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

With all that being said, and the house cue in good condition, I picked the house cue.
All things the same, but the cuetec outfitted with the vortex wood shaft, I pick cuetec hands down...It's all about the wood feel, if cuetec has it then they are going to be more playable

This is a solid "advanced " move;)

the house cue for me:)

The advanced move these days may be to use the cuetec...Any more, you see a cuetec in someones hand and your first thought is..."I must be able to beat this guy"

Oceanweb's Attitude

Oceanweb's arrogant and condescending attitude toward Cuetec and DP users, and probably anyone else who does have a certain dollar value cue, is a little puzzling. Perhaps having a more expensive cue makes one a better person.

What the hell does it matter what cue someone uses as long as they like it and can make a few balls. No reason to downchat someone who may not have the finances to buy a cue that costs a lot of money.

I happen to own a few fairly expensive cues but have also played with Cuetecs and DP's and still manage to make the same shots regardless of what cue I'm using.

You have missed the point....it has nothing to do with money. You can get a decent cue for $100 (see thread). But the truth is that most people (see poll) would rather use a house cue than a CueTec.
