I did do a search before asking this and couldn`t find anything.
So my question is; How do you clean a cuetec shaft, excaliber, etc, etc.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks for any advice I can get.
Jeff

Cleaning should be easy. You can wipe it down with a wet paper towel.
Obviously, you wouldn't want to use any billiard product with an abrasive compound in it.
Billiard stores sell a special liquid for using specifically for fiberglass wrapped shafts. Usually $6 for a tiny bottle. Go to the drug store or hair salon and buy a bottle of Pantene for Hair Frizz. After you clean your shaft, give it a touch of hair frizz goo and you should be set for a few games.

that stuff they sell is really just repackaged armor all. i don't find that it works well though, it gets sticky eventually. best thing is to wipe it down with some alcohol. i find sanding the fiberglass lightly with some 220ish grit helps too.

Wouldn't surprise me. My wife's first cue was a Scorpion and the cleaner she got was pretty watery, didn't seem to work all that well.
And yes, alcohol, (preferably Bacardi White) works well too, beter than water. You can buy a box of alcohol swabs at the pharmacy for cheapo.
Individual swabs that are just big enuff for one shaft and a ferrule clean.
I always keep a half dozen in my cue case.

Jeff, are you a player rep for Cuetec now in the 3 leagues you play up there in PA?:D

No I just get people that have cuetec cues that want tips installed, & I always clean up the shaft as well, but wasn`t for sure how to do it. And I`m not about to ruin someones cue shaft. Thats why I ask the question in the first place.

I had the same problem with my CueTec. The shaft was always sticky and i tried everything to keep it slick but it would only stay slick for a short time then it would start to get gummy.
But i finally found a fool proof solution! I sold it and bought a Lucasi with a plain old fashioned wood shaft and that's that.

Once the shaft is clean, the best, most important advice I can give is:...................THE PLAYERS NEED TO KEEP THEIR HANDS CLEAN BEFORE USING THE STICK.
So many times I clean a shaft, be it wood or fiberglass coated, hand it to them on a league night, and they go from eating pizza or wings, etc. and just pick up the stick and shoot their match. Then 3 weeks later, they're complaining that 'the stick is sticky, what can they do about it'
Cleaning it works, but education of the players make it last longer, IMO.
