I want to get a custom stick but I need the sticks shaft have the same hit and feel as my Cuetec. I've looked at the OB shafts and Predator 314 shafts but haven't shot with them. Do these hit similar? Are there any other shafts to consider?

neither are going to hit like any cuetec i've ever tried

Good luck with either of those two ever hitting anywhere close to a cuetec. The best thing I have ever did was get rid of mine. Love my 314

The new cuetec R360 shaft is a totally different animal than old cuetec cues.

I think it preforms with the best of them !

Only a Cuetech shaft will hit like a Cuetech.
The Alison Fisher series R360 has a polycarbonate ferrule, compared to the ABS of the R360 Edge series. They are the LD of Cuetech shafts.

No, nobody designs shafts to hit like the SST shafts. Have you tried regular wood shafts for any length of time? If not I highly recommend it.

I'd forego any SST shafts, I played with one for a long time from when I was like 11 to 16.....it was just fine for a beginner. The shaft was slick at first but lost its smoothness and the smooth coating gave way to a tackier surface which is what you expect from fiberglass/resin.

I havent hit with any of the R-360's but I'm sure they are just fine by all means, I've held them just never hit a ball with one just yet. Hell Shane runs out with them. I have hit many balls with a friends Thunderbolt shaft cuetek, and it hits really good and its wood with a carbon insert of somekind in the shaft.

For under $200 I don't think I'm going out on a limb when saying that a cuetek R360 is a great buy. If your using an older fiberglass cladded shaft then get a new one......its cheap anyways.

I'd buy that cue b/f I purchased a meucci thats for sure, but would rather the meucci over the old cueteks so that should tell you something.

If your looking for a cheap cue to bring to bad bars instead of your custom or happen to just be a beginner the R360 is a good fit for you....hits just fine, its cheap and can take a bit of a beating.

One of the most cost effective cues on the market if not the most.

Hate to leave out meullers RAT cues very affordable very nice cues.....ryan here on the forum makes them and they are priced to sell and are good players too just no LD shaft stuff that I know of unless its aftermarket (pred/tiger etc...)

I only shoot with a 13 mm. I cant use the r360 as it only comes in 12.75mm :(

sounds like you better just stick with what you got.

not to sound to rude but you wont be happy with anything quality you buy if your used to just that shaft and that size and nothing else lol

save your money, stick with what you have until you can tell the diffrence for yourself and make your own opinion.

Every aftermarket shaft you are asking about comes in 12.75mm. If .25mm is going to make you or break you.... stick with what you have and save your money. Most people want to change shafts to change the hit, whether because of low deflection or just wanting a stiffer/softer hit. Nothing on the market hits like a cuetec, so if you want a "cuetec hit" stick with what you already have.

If you want to try a LD shaft they will definitely feel different, and there will be a learning curve to get used to the hit. Most manufactures suggest to play with it for a month before you make the decision as to whether you like it or not, because sometimes just the different hit may feel funny to you because you're not used to it. In my opinion the new Tiger X Ultra LD, and the new OB classic shafts are the best on the market right now just depending on the "style" of hit you like. If you are in the market for one PM me, and I will make sure you get a great deal.

Thanks

Will be noticeably stiffer than your shaft and feel more solid, the switch from my sst to 314 was really tough at first for me. I went on a 6 month deployment and didn't play pool the whole time and when I came back i was shooting lights out. I guess all that time off helped my game out on the transfer to ld shaft

I want to get a custom stick but I need the sticks shaft have the same hit and feel as my Cuetec.

Why?
Is yout CueTec the best cue in the whole wide world?
Is you game so superb that anything other than this cue will be a backwards step?

Lets assume you are a competent player with your CT cue. If you were to pick up a Predetor (or any other higher-end manufactured) cue, it would take you about 6 hours to come to grips with how it plays differently, and another week dialing in your stroke to the playing fashion enjoyed by the new cue. After this week of frustration is done, your new cue will be just like your old friend.

None of the LD, balance point, shaft taper,... maters for the first 6hours to 1 week. If your game is flexible enough to get better, it is flexible enough to come to grips with a cue that is simply different than what you are accustomed. Give the cue time, and give yourself time; and a new friendship will bloom.

Dude, if you would rather shoot with a crappy old Cuetec over a quality LD shaft because of a .25mm difference you don't want to get better. It doesn't take that long to get used to and once you do I guarantee you'll play better. With that being said, McDermott has the G-core shaft which is a LD shaft that is 13mm. Many people agree its a great playing shaft too and extremely reasonable in price.
