AND NO PEANUT BUTTER!!!!!

ahh. why do you use such big fonts??

your explanation of "i cant see too well" doesn't make any sense because you know what you are typing, and noone else uses big fonts therefore, unless you only care about what you're writing your argument makes no sense.

I NEVER SAID I HAVE VISION ISSUES!!! I ASKED, DID IT OCCUR TO ANYONE I MIGHT HAVE A VISION PROBLEM? I DISCUSSED MY REASONING IN DETAIL. LEARN FROM AN OLD MAN, YOU NEVER WANT TO DO WHAT EVERYBODY DOES AS THAT MAKES YOU AVERAGE; WHO WANTS TO BE AVERAGE?

I've tried the sugar trick, the peanut butter one, and of course the drink a beer real slowly one many, many times. They work sometimes, but it sure sucks when the sugar one doesn't work.

By far the one that works best for me is to get a real tart lemon or lime and just hold the juice in my mouth. The acidity seems to shock me enough that it works 99% of the time. My girlfriend uses vinegar for the same reason. Even if I have bad beer hiccups, the ones you know holding your breath won't work for, the lemon/lime trick works every time for me.

Always works for me too ...

This has always worked for me too. I take a deep breath, hold it, and keep sucking in more air, and holding it as long as I can. Finally, when I have to, I exhale and quickly repeat the process. A couple of times and the hiccups are gone!

I forget who told me of this "cure", but it has worked flawlessly for me longer than I can remember ...

I dont see how typing in all caps makes you unique. It mostly makes you look like a douchebag looking for attention.

being old doesn't give you an excuse to act out. and using a size 7 font doesn't make you above-average, it just makes your posts extremely annoying. honestly it just seems like you need some attention.

if you posted in more threads i'd put you on ignore just so my eyes wouldn't be so affronted. and i'm sure a lot of other people would too.

My biggest fear in life is to be average.<----Gods honest truth.

When I was a bad guy telemarketer I spoke to alot of old people daily and there are alot of them who are angry, scared, have bad reactions to meds, alone, hate being old, etc. and they do act out, some more than others. Do those adverse circumstances in life give them the right to act out? no, but given their situations and i'm only generalizing I can understand it and I try and work around it, its not my business to change them I just try to put a smile on their face. If I cant do that then I let them carry on and actually feel bad for them. They are my elders and weather they are right or wrong I still respect them. Since I have had sever chronic pain forthe past 3 years-i'm 40 I have went off on a few people for no reason and that has given me more insight to older peoples frustration, I watched my parents die and my dad was vicious at the end, as was my mom sometimes. I just go easy on them now that I'm more informed about them, I have more compassion than I did before and yeah its tough but when you do you'll feel better about your self, i'm speaking about me. I'm not taking sides here just telling my story. nor am I knocking anyone,

In the past 2-3 years I have experienced a rapid decline in my overall health (now officially an old geezer 65) ... I am more outspoken about almost everything, a large number of my friends have passed (or close to it), I have days when I feel like throwing-in-the-towel, etc. ... Then, I muster up the strength to remember my blessings ... A wife who has loved me and cared for me unconditionally these past 30+ years ... My children, whom have made me so proud ... My Grandchildren, whom have brought me only joy and happiness ... My friends, the really true friends, whom have been there for me throughout life's journey ...
I will most likely relapse into my bad attitude mode in the future but, for today, I am truly Thankful for all my Blessings ...

Good post Str8PoolPlayer. Your post is also a prime example of the right way to make your posts stand out. A different color and font. No difficult formats to read like large fonts and all caps.

Jay, I do just the opposite and it works. Blow out all of the air in your lungs and do not breathe in. Once you think you have blown it all out try taking only in a little air and repeat the process and then hold your breath again with your lungs empty. At the same time tighten your stomach musles and the two together will work.

I seen people on TV that have had hiccups for years and it can be a serious problem for some but I believe there may be surgery now in those severe cases. Remove their two lungs I guarantee that works! I do not remember what the surgery proceedure was on TV.

I have a much easier way to cure the hiccups. Hold your breath, start drinking water slowly. Swallow every second, and right after you swallow, burp and let a little air out, then swallow again, and continue that cycle for about 10-15 seconds and you will be fine.

What causes hiccups?

Many factors can contribute to a case of the hiccups.
Irritation to the nerves that control normal
contractions of the diaphragm can occur upon the
consumption of hot or spicy foods or by drinking
carbonated liquids. This irritation can cause hiccups.
Eating a large meal or eating too quickly can also
cause hiccups by distending the stomach. The stomach
is located directly under the diaphragm and it is
believed by some that the hiccupping is a reflex to
protect us from choking. Changing the temperature
in the stomach by drinking a cold and then a hot
beverage has also been known to activate the hiccups.
Others aggressors include sudden excitement or stress,
nervousness, heartburn, smoking, being under general
anesthesia or having pneumonia. One of the biggest
triggers for hiccups is alcohol.
