Current Top players

How does Corey Deuel get on these top lists of anyone? Yes he is a great 9ball player, but I don't think I would even put him top 20.

Are you on crack? Name me 20 people in the world that would play Corey even. I can only think of maybe 5 or 6 and they wouldn't have to like it.

Corey does belong there. you just don't hear much about him. besides that, he got one hell of a teacher in Reyes ! :D

I dunno. I'll take Efren in a straight-up, non-setup, honest BIG-money match against anybody in the solar system. If the pressure/money is big enough, you might have to send someone in from another galaxy.

I heard something like Orcullo offered every American player the 7 except for Corey and Archer, he would give them the 8. Is this true? If it is, I guess that answers the level of Corey's game.

r u serious

Ive 4 videos with Yang and 3/4 he got tortured. I would rank him probably 12th or 13th. Thinking about it Johnny may be a little high up also. Seems his interest maybe on the green or elsewhere. Its so really hard to put a top 10 or 20 list up because players or so radical with there performaces. All I know for sure is that players on the island see em different than everyone else. I think in the next 5 to 10 years you will see a new top 10 list with names like WU, ALEX, SHANE VB, CORY, and a slew of younger "Islanders".

I was going to mention Shane Van Boeing.I got to watch him play at the Windy City this year.Him and Jesse Bowman played in the finals of the Pro-am 9-ball and they were making shots that caused me to scratch my head!
Eddie Balderas was playing Shane some 8-ball on the barbox there too.Anybody who plays BB 8-ball knows the difficulty of the game.Well Shane was getting out from IMPOSSIBLE spots. And he was doing it a LOT.The guy is truly one of the most gifted players I have ever watched!

Yeah I heard Shane say his goal was to be the best in the world. Who knows...I think he has a ways to go, but his heart and attitude, and his skills seem to be on the right track.

I can name you 20 filipino players ( some unknown at that) that will take Corey even, then I can name you another 10 or so taiwanese who will do the same....I like Corey too, but he is not invinsible...

1. a filipino player
2. a filipino player
3. a filipino player
4. a filipino player
5. a filipino player
6. Ralf Souquet
7. Thorsten Hohmann
8. Johnny Archer
9. Yang from Taiwan
10. Mika Immonen

This is tough cause you have to consider the "any given day theory." There are lot's of players not even in the top twenty that can knock off a top five player on the right day, considering this...I would put alot of emphasis on consistency when choosing my players.

My top ten:

Po-Cheng Kuo (no list is complete without him)
Wu Chia-Ching
Yang Chin-Shun
Dennis Orcullo
Marlon Manalo
Johnny Archer
Ralf Souquet
Efren Reyes
Mika Immonen

I know I didn't include Earl, but if this is about "current top players" like the thread is titled than you can't really include someone that hasn't won a big tournament in nearly five years. I wanted to include Bustamante but just didn't seem to have room for him, same goes for Deuel:(

i agree corey deuel lol he may not even make the top 50 there are so many champions out there. many people will show corey up they are just not in the position to.

Cory

I used to think the same about Cory, but let me tell you this. I watched him give Shane Van Boeing the 8 on a TRIPLE SHIM and take the cash. When I seen this kids level of play, he got my vote...
