Cushion - no cloth

Local place was replacing the cloth on all three tables. They accidentally started work on all three, so they stopped work on one, leaving the bed intact, but all cushions had their rubber exposed.

They let me play on that table. Pretty cool experience as the cushions bounced so much more and grabbed an insane amount of english. That allowed for some normally unavailable position plays, new definitions of hold up, and made some shots (force follow to stick on the rail) just about impossible.

Oddly enough, I was able to run a few racks.

I've played on a table like that. From the kitchen it's possible to shoot half a diamond on the long rail from a foot pocket and go cross-corner. The english reverses on the cue ball.

How about playing on a table with no cloth?

This could only work on a one piece slate but I think everything would be extremely difficult. It would be almost as bad as having a cue like years ago without a leather tip or chalk.

I once played the other way. Somebody had split a full can of coke on a one week old snooker bed (12 foot). We cut off the old cloth so it wouldn't soak into the rails or slate. Played on it with no bed cloth (rails intact) and I could now go 9 rails!.
