Here in Tucson, AZ, where its very dry most cues pose a real problem.
I sell very, very few cues with linen wraps because they tend to slide around in your hand.
Leather grips are a better but some of those are slippery as well.
Wrapless cues work much better but fatigue is always an issue and some folks simply won't use a wrapless cue.
Lucasi Hybrid cues with the rubberized cushion wrap do extremely well. In fact I can't remember the last time someone said that they simply didn't like the feel. Predator also uses a comfort leather (fake) grip on most of their current line of cues. It's good marketing too because people tend to stick (no pun intended) with these types of cues.
So here is my question ... Are there any custom cuemakers who have experimented with rubberized or cushion grips? ... perhaps leather over foam or something similar? Or is this just not a good idea?
