ok im going to finish up your case...i have to bust my butt i have work at 930. Whatever i dont finish now i will do after work so that way it is ready to go tomorrow. I have a little sewing to do for black felt to line the tubes for brain71. He wanted a smooth strap and when removing his tube i nicked the felt so i have to resew and replace it and have that ready asap. Im behind on that one also.... Im working i promise. If i cant get your shirts by tomorrow i will mail them seperately to you and brain71. I wanted to make a public statement apologizing for my delay to both of you and that i will at least mail you some free stuff as a way of trying to apologize. Evan knows how long it takes to sew.)
thanks
chaz
will do. Im heading to work. Call me if u have any questions. Ill be finishing up the strap and handle etc.....i just had to go get some more black felt....fyi...i dont use cheap felt i actaully use a wool/something combo that lasts longer and comes out better. Its 4x more expensive at about $12 a yard compared to the $3 that actual felt cost but it wears better and doesnt pill like cheap felt. Just letting everyone know and i have some pics of elephant that one of my friends picked up tonight and a couple prolite type versions will be prototyped as soon as i catch up with everyones cases.
Thanks
chaz
You all need to cut Chaz some slack. What he is doing, taking orders, dealing with special requests, keeping up with supplies, cutting patterns, tooling, dyeing, designing, hand sewing everything, and learning on top of it is a lot for a team of leather workers much less one man doing it part time. I have no idea what he is getting for each case $250ish I guess, that's the equivalent of abotu $3 an hour when material costs are taken out.
It takes time to take pictures and put them up on the web or email - even if it's only ten minutes per case per customer that's time that could better be spent making cases.
Chas - sweet looking stuff. Nice handle. Be careful about the stress points where the handle meets the body when doing this style.
Hey Chaz... just wondering.
And me too, once I get the first one, I would love to talk some exotic materials for a 3x4!
Felix
yes i can get the strap to match the pockets. Not that strap though i will have to make a new one...wont take that long maybe an hour tops.
Thanks

I guess I'll jump into the fire too cause I also have a case in the works.
I agree with both JB and Fast on both counts. A man's word should be solid. You promise something, you deliver. However, Chad is just getting into the business. Maybe he underestimated his own deftness in picking up a new trade. I'm sure he'll be able to gauge his time after this initial run and find his own pace in which he can turn out a case.
Now I say these words without knowing how long Fast [and others] have been waiting for. Also, I'm not in any particular rush for Chad's case. These could be factors as to why I'm so laid back at the moment. I just need this case before my cue comes in in two week or so... so who knows? I might be rushing Chad in two weeks time but for now, I think Chad's still working on perfecting each case before it leaves and I can connect with that attitude of perfection before I deliver.
