ok im going to finish up your case...i have to bust my butt i have work at 930. whatever i dont finish now i will do after work so that way it is ready to go tomorrow. i have a little sewing to do for black felt to line the tubes for brain71. he wanted a smooth strap and when removing his tube i nicked the felt so i have to resew and replace it and have that ready asap. im behind on that one also.... Im working i promise. if i cant get your shirts by tomorrow i will mail them seperately to you and brain71. i wanted to make a public statement apologizing for my delay to both of you and that i will at least mail you some free stuff as a way of trying to apologize. evan knows how long it takes to sew. :o)

thanks

it's greatly appreciated....

Thanks. And if you get a chance post some finished pics for everybody once you have it done.

will do. im heading to work. call me if u have any questions. ill be finishing up the strap and handle etc.....i just had to go get some more black felt....fyi...i dont use cheap felt i actaully use a wool/something combo that lasts longer and comes out better. its 4x more expensive at about $12 a yard compared to the $3 that actual felt cost but it wears better and doesnt pill like cheap felt. just letting everyone know and i have some pics of elephant that one of my friends picked up tonight and a couple prolite type versions will be prototyped as soon as i catch up with everyones cases.

thanks

Use whichever handles you feel fit the case better.... I'm not that picky.

Can you get the strap the same color as the pockets? I'd really not like to wait for you to get the pockets off the case, although i like the strap color more.

If you need anything, call me.

Are any of those pics of mine?

Hey Chaz... just wondering.

And me too, once I get the first one, I would love to talk some exotic materials for a 3x4!

Felix

You all need to cut Chaz some slack. What he is doing, taking orders, dealing with special requests, keeping up with supplies, cutting patterns, tooling, dyeing, designing, hand sewing everything, and learning on top of it is a lot for a team of leather workers much less one man doing it part time. I have no idea what he is getting for each case $250ish I guess, that's the equivalent of abotu $3 an hour when material costs are taken out.

It takes time to take pictures and put them up on the web or email - even if it's only ten minutes per case per customer that's time that could better be spent making cases.

Chas - sweet looking stuff. Nice handle. Be careful about the stress points where the handle meets the body when doing this style.

yes i can get the strap to match the pockets. not that strap though i will have to make a new one...wont take that long maybe an hour tops.

thanks

no offense john, but i also do custom work (not cue cases) and deal with customers, order supplies, do the work, pay the bills, etc...... Difference is, i am held to my word.

In the pool world for some reason, we are all expected to "cut everybody some slack" i don't agree.

If i say something to a customer i mean it. That's my point.

Chas, this wasn't meant as a swipe at you, but i didn't want a third party, that doesn't know our discussions getting involved. I'm still very excited to see my new case. Hopefully it's in the next few days.

Jb, i understand you gonna swing back at me, and that's ok, but you have to admit...... A mans word is all he has, and in the pool world, for some reason, we let guys slide way to often.

I guess I'll jump into the fire too cause I also have a case in the works.

I agree with both JB and Fast on both counts. A man's word should be solid. You promise something, you deliver. However, Chad is just getting into the business. Maybe he underestimated his own deftness in picking up a new trade. I'm sure he'll be able to gauge his time after this initial run and find his own pace in which he can turn out a case.

Now I say these words without knowing how long Fast [and others] have been waiting for. Also, I'm not in any particular rush for Chad's case. These could be factors as to why I'm so laid back at the moment. I just need this case before my cue comes in in two week or so... so who knows? I might be rushing Chad in two weeks time but for now, I think Chad's still working on perfecting each case before it leaves and I can connect with that attitude of perfection before I deliver.

Was that a hint for Chad.....
I hope you receive it, but he is behind on delivery expectations....he had talked about shipping mine two weeks ago....so...he said he's working on it today...so..there you go.

feltmaster i called u a few min ago...call me when u can.

as for anyone that wants to talk to me call me....its faster. i took monday off to catch up a little also. if i wasnt handstitching the pockets on i would be on schedual. also i can only work as fast as the wet leather can dry before dying and i have to let the dye dry before i put any type of sealer on. there are also about 9 tools per 3/4". its not that im not working or not working efficiently but it is just very time consuming. i know everyone wants to see progress and fast n loose is right "a mans word is all he has" so ive put alot of hours in his case. things just didnt go smoothly and its been a struggle with his case.

i have also been working on the prolite version for a 3x6 and thats what i need to talk to feltmaster about.

heres my grind.....i want this thread to be where i can post pics and progressions and options for people. recently theres just been a few people kind of bashing my progress. i welcome everyone into my home to come and watch. if you have something to say call me. if you dont call and just post or you email me happy and then post otherwise, your not letting me help the situation. i only have had a couple grumpy people and if my name was justis, szamboti, southwest, etc..i wouldnt have a problem with anyone. the fact is that i am making cases out of high quality materials for cheap. handstitched, tooled, and to your specifications.

TO HELP ME PRODUCE FASTER.....i already matched everyone up but cmon....please provide your azname in your paypal payment so people can tell who sent the payment, if your email address is different than your paypal address notify that person. provide names and a contact number on emails..etc. theres not one person that i do buisness with that i dont provide my personal cell phone number to as well as my email address. I talk to people everyday.

fast n loose. thank you for calling when you wanted to know something. i hope that you feel that i was honest and upfront about your progress, even when i knew that what i had to say was not the answer you were looking for. That also drives me to work constantly to give you the answers that you want to hear. There would have been nothing better than saying your case is on the way or at least have u finished pics by now.

this has been a blessing and a curse but im not going to let a few bad things drag me down, i didnt think it would take off like this. I want eveyone to know that i talk to alot of people everyday, i answer questions and communicate back and forth and help each person with their decisions by providing options and giving advice (blacktide knows). If anyone would like to discuss casemaking feel free to call and ill be glad to talk to you about what has put me behind and what im doing to overcome. :o)

thanks
