Well, I haven't had a chance to experiment with the lighting and picture taking suggestions from the thread I started but I thought I'd snap a few of the Gilbert I just got in today. Here they be:

Wow, that is a nice JB! If you don't mind my asking, what did that set you back?

PM sent.

Let me tell you guys. This cue plays, jumps and breaks as well as it looks! I ordered the cue with two shafts, one with a phenolic tip for dedicated breaking and jumping and one with a regular tip for playing since Gilbert J/Bs play as well as most playing cues!

All -

I have had several Gilbert Cues and I know Andy personally. He is so underpriced on his cues. I think he is one of the best cue values out there. I know it sounds like I am bad mouthing him, but his prices are way low, and frankly I dont understand it.

Look at the price of a Scruggs S/P. I have seen a very plain one go for $600. Give Andy a call and see what you can get for that kind of beans.

They play as good as anyone, INCLUDING BLACK, TAD, AND GINA. I have them have shot with and own all of them.

Regards
Ken

p.s. I DO NOT HAVE A GILBERT FOR SALE.....lol

Zeeder, your J/B turned out super nice. Looks like Andy did a great job. Sean

Andy did do a great job. While the points aren't "perfect" they are pretty much within a sixteenth of an inch of each other on each level. The cue hits great, much the same as every other Gilbert I've tried.

It was pretty funny. I was practicing breaks with the phenolic tip and a couple of racks I played out with that tip. There were a couple of times where I executed table length draw shots! I've not used the phenolic tips much but I definitely didn't have any problems puttting spin on the ball with this one. With the cue being 60" my hand is on the wrap for most shots, which is nice. The leather wrap is about as good as you can get as far as not finding the seam and it feels great.

pretty cool zack!

Thanks, I've already formed a bond with it after just two days! :D :D

I just spent a little quality time checking out your redesigned site and I have to say that your pictures are incredible and the cues are even better. I'd give my left arm for that 8-point Tascarella and my right arm for the 8-point Hercek! If I ever hit the Powerball Lottery then I may just have to make you an offer you can't refuse for those two...lol.

Nice Gilbert cue Zack :)

On a side note, I just got word from Jeff H of Gilbert cues... my Szamboti-styled cue is ready!

Jeff H?! I've only talked to Andy and his wife. You'll definitely have to post some pics when you get the cue in!
