Custom Sneaky Pete below $400

I know what you mean. It took me a little while to get use to my Josey. But when I did, I think it helped my game out a lot. A stiff hitting cue with a lot of feedback. I love it soo much I ordered another cue from him. Also, like everyone says, they are good people. When you request for something, you get it just the way you wanted. It is hard to find many folks like that.
The hit feels GREAT with the standard shaft.

Personally I don't think it's as stiff as people say but compared to your norm it's definitely pretty stiff.

As far as feedback goes with a Kamui black I feel like I'm touching the cueball with my hand when I hit it. I don't know how to describe it, I feel like I'm feeling the cue ball.

If he would make a standard shaft at 11.75mm for me or a timeless timber I'd probably use that instead of my OB2.

Keith Hanssen is making the maple shaft for my sneaky @ 11.6mm so I can't wait for that.

Thanks for the feedback, I recently bought a Josey buttpiece and considering getting a shaft from Josey or OB classic. With your review, I'll start with a josey shaft.

I think my Josey shafts came at about 12.4, had a timeless timber that was amazing nut sold it with my original Josey. On my second and third now. Just recently started using a Jacobey Hybrid shaft with a Kamui black SS and it is awesome

Hello Guys,

I am thinking to get my first custom cue, and I like SP so much! Though I am going to get one, but I don't know much about custom cue. May I know who makes the best SP for around $400? I prefer a full splice with good shaft (stiff hit). Thanks.

regards,
Beng

more info please

what woods are you wanting in the butt?
how many shafts?
what tip or tips do you want?
What style of joint?
do you want a irish linen wrap?

Or are we expected to read your mind:eek:

How can we suggest a cue maker when we have no idea what style of cue you want.

FYI most cue makers order in the sneaky pete blanks.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for all the responses! Appreciate!

I think Josey did a very great job, most of you recommend Josey. :)

I am looking for coco or bocote wood, 1 shaft, layered tip medium, 3/8x10 joint and wrapless.

same question, anyone hit with both SLY and Josey? Thanks.

it sounds to me like you need a few friends with these cues, cause what you need is to hit with them and see what you like. I'm also willing to guess (don't get mad) that you prob don't really know the difference in the hits and it's going to boil down to the one that visually gets you hard.

If time is on your side and you can make the trip, I say go to the SBE. That's prob the one place that can "hands on" help you the most right now. You really can't go getting too much info form people here cause they are giving their taste and not yours.

Pool is a bottomless pit if you're really into it. It's all trial by fire stuff, so go buy something see how you like it then go buy another. I'm sure most here have done that until they come to "here" (the point were they feel that this last one that they got has the best feel)

Jump in and stop dipping your toes in the water.

Not really even sure why, but I really like that Pierce that you posted among your links. It just sort of draws me. Might have to break into my "tucky" account and hide it from the significant other for a bit. :)

I would recommend two that I can personally vouch for.
Jim Baxter. You will get quality material and workmanship.

Leon Sly. Same, I have two Sly sneakies and they play excellent. I think Leon may have cut down on the sneakies but will still make one by request.

With either, you can specify shaft specs to your liking.
