Cutting and shaping slate

John, I didn't attack you buddy...I cracked a joke to you. If you're really that upset at being made a little fun of....I'm sorry, didn't mean to hurt your feelings...OK, all better now? I don't dislike you John, in fact I'd even work some jobs with you if you needed my help...and more than likely wouldn't even charge you....if you'd be interested in learning a few things. We've met before, and got along great...so nothings changed on my part. And for what it's worth....I don't need any help to gang up on you, I'm big enough to do that all by myself....all I need is for you to print something funny...and I'll take it from there:grin:

You get an "A" for an excellent passive aggressive post.

Seriously rkc, you seem like a good guy overall, with a ton of knowledge that you can and do share here. Why not take it easy on the cockiness? You would come off a lot better to common readers like me if you dropped the "holier than thou" attitude. Being the best around makes a person a lot more likable when they are humble....

Humble applies to the readers as well. I believe I posted a comment to John...as I've met John, spent time working with John...but don't recall seeing you there at the time;)

then maybe you could have insulted him in person rather than putting it on this forum where all of us that come here for information get stuck reading it.

I'm quite sure that since I wasn't there, I wouldn't even know about it to be commenting here.

Again, you are a really sharp guy, as a table mechanic and forum contribution. Why not apply your skills towards making things positive?

It's a new day. Another chance to make things better. Another apportioning to improve in all ways. I start fresh, no grudges. I'm sorry for overreacting

Let's just work together ok

The forum lets people say things that they would never say directly. Let's All make believe we are face to face and keep some of thus Bs out of here. Let's fi a group to moderate threads and delete the bad ones

Let's just work together. To me it's work in that regard. No clowning around

Now I need to catch Glen in the rep department. He has far to big of a lead

Trust me I know how to have fun. But if I'm in the playground I make sure that all the kids get to play. That's me.

So Mr Wilson now can see change happening.

I offered to be a moderator because I don't tolerate anything until the job is done. We all have allot to do.

Think 911. We have bigger problems then fighting ourselves. We need a fresh start

Im game to take it easy. I have never given bad rep but think that guys with rep need to be careful So it's a new forum. Hey Guys my name is John

I have a 3-piece set of 1" slates from a POS cheap table I bought on craigslist before I had a clue about pool tables. All that is left is the slate.

My wife wants table tops made out of it. Soooo...how hard is it to cut slate? What tools to use for straight and curved cuts? Can you grind/sand/shape edges? Can you cut it with a 1 hp bandsaw? Water cooling? Or what kind of local company might do this as part of their line of work?

I myself cut slates, so if it's straight cuts you want then either Home Depot or Lowe's sell a small tile cutting circular saw with a Diamond blade. You can use a straight edge to line up the saw for straight cuts real easy. There's a water hose attachment for using water while cutting as well. I don't remember the exact cost but somewhere around $100.

Glen
